Dyngus Day Buffalo

Come celebrate Dyngus Day (with a parade starting at 5pm)- along with food, music and other entertainment! Now, what is Dyngus day you ask?! " Historically a Polish-American tradition, Dyngus Day celebrates the end of the often restrictive observance of lent and the joy of Easter. Over the decades, Dyngus Day has become a wonderful holiday to celebrate Polish-American culture, heritage and traditions."
Buffalo is the Dyngus Day Capitol of America, and since Buffalo has a very large Polish Heritage Population- the celebration attracts thousands of people!

Elmwood Village Farmers Market

We are a producer-only market, meaning that all our vendors grow or produce what they sell themselves—no middlemen and no compromises. Our patrons know they are dealing directly with source, helping to create a diverse and healthy local economy!

Elmwood-Bidwell Farmers Market

Buffa-love Things to Do Post #1: Elmwood-Bidwell Farmers Market
This is a producer-only market, with locally grown products from vendors from around Western New York. There can also be musical entertainment and even cooking demonstrations! It's very popular among locals and definitely worth a visit! You'll find Bidwell Park filled with people enjoying the outdoors, playing games, relaxing, and strolling down Elmwood Ave.

The Market is held every Saturday (Rain-or-Shine!) starting May 10th through November 29th (located on the corner of Elmwood Ave. and Bidwell Parkway)

Attention all Graduating International Students and Scholars:

On Friday, May 16th at 12pm in Butler Library 210, you will be recognized during our 9th Annual International Graduation Ceremony Reception. At the event you will be presented with a blue and white chord that you will proudly wear the next day during commencement. We encourage you to bring family, friends and loved ones to share in this special occasion! Light refreshments will be served.

You should have received an email with a form to RSVP for the event, so please return it as soon as possible if you plan on attending. If you need a new form, stop by the office.

Any Questions, contact Michelle at the office: 878-5331

Dr. Gounard has TWO very important reminders for current students! (You'll also get emailed about these)

1) If you're changing your address and moving somewhere new- you must come to the ISA office and see Michelle. The Homeland Security rule stipulates that you report your new address WITH IN TEN DAYS of moving!!! (and we don't want anyone getting in trouble with Homeland Security- that would really ruin your day!)

2) For those of you who are going back home (anywhere in the world), do not forget to have your I-20 forms and other documents verified and signed by the ISA office before leaving.

The end of the semester is quickly approaching!! Incase you didn't know, you have the option of selling back your text books for a partial refund! I only suggest doing this if you are CERTAIN that you will never need the book again for future reference. You can sell back to Buffalo State's bookstore (the info. link is below), or you can Google other options in the area.

For those of you who will be in the Buffalo area this summer, we will be posting events and things to do that make Western New York a fun place to be! Stay Tuned!
