Report: 36 percent of low-income New Yorkers lack broadband

My thanks to NYS Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli for his report detailing the ongoing broadband challenges facing our state.

One million New Yorkers still lack access to high-speed internet. We need to make broadband a utility to expand access to everyone.

Why bulldoze trees and pave green space for a new outdoor event venue, when one is already being built at RCW Park? This plan wastes scarce NYPA resettlement funds and should be scrapped.

Yup, that's me! With my mask in my hand, about to put it back on 😷

Anyway, 16-1 is still on the table, and at least it didn't rain. Go Bills!

Hey State Senator Sean Ryan, why do you and Governor Kathy Hochul make our kids wear masks all day in school when you won’t even wear one while buying beer at the Bills game in a crowded concourse? Even though it’s the county’s regulation? Does that rule not apply to powerful, big shot Senators?

Texas governor signs new GOP voting restrictions into law

While Texas works to deny access to the ballot box, New York will continue to ensure all our citizens can exercise their fundamental right to vote.

We need Congress to act to protect all Americans from efforts to roll back voting rights progress.

TYLER, Texas (AP) — Republican Texas Gov. Greg Abbott signed an elections overhaul into law Tuesday that adds more voting restrictions in the booming state, after Democrats spent months protesting …

New York Extends Eviction Moratorium to early 2022, Offering New Chance for Landlords to Push Back

The Cuomo administration failed to properly administer the COVID-19 Emergency Rental Assistance Program, and that failure has exacerbated pandemic-related problems for landlords and tenants across New York.

Yesterday we took action to address the concerns we have heard consistently from landlords, while continuing to protect vulnerable populations who have experienced devastating effects of the pandemic.

Landlords will now be able to evict tenants who are a nuisance or who cause property damage. In addition, landlords can now challenge a hardship declaration in court if they believe a tenant is lying about a pandemic-related hardship.

As we continue to address the impact of the pandemic, it's a good time for a reminder that we have a vaccine that is safe, effective, and free. Get vaccinated so we can finally end this pandemic.

State lawmakers renew and rework tenant relief to fit a Supreme Court decision won by property owners — cheering advocates but drawing threats of further legal action.

The soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice put their lives on the line to help evacuate Americans and Afghan allies who assisted our military during the last two decades.

Chicago reports Lollapalooza was not a superspreader event despite 400K attendees

Good example of how vaccines work. The Lollapalooza music festival in Chicago required proof of vaccination this year.

Out of nearly 400,000 attendees, just 203 tested positive for COVID - and none of the cases resulted in hospitalization or death. Vaccines work. Get vaccinated to keep yourself and your community safe.

Chicago’s top doctor said the city’s recent music festival, Lollapalooza, was not a superspreader event.

When it comes to our waterfront, let's focus on what the public wants. The public wanted a large outdoor event space at the Ralph C. Wilson Jr Centennial Park, and a quieter, simpler Outer Harbor that features trails and green space.

There is no need for a competing Outer Harbor amphitheater. Urging ECHDC to work with the Wilson Foundation to save taxpayer money.

Census data shows Buffalo growing for first time in 70 years

After decades of population loss, the City of Buffalo is growing once again thanks in large part to our state programs to support refugees and immigrants arriving from around the world.

Buffalo's new residents are starting businesses, creating jobs, and diversifying our economy. Our diversity is our strength in the New Buffalo.

Live Updates: Governor Cuomo Says He Will Resign

The Governor’s impending resignation sends a strong message that sexual harassment will never be tolerated, regardless of the level of influence an individual holds. I once again commend the women who have bravely come forward to tell the truth about what happened.

It is time for New York State to move forward. I join my fellow New Yorkers in wishing Lieutenant Governor Hochul all the best as she takes office as Governor in the coming days. I have no doubt that she will effectively lead our state forward and deliver results for the people of New York.

Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo said he would step down in 14 days, after a searing investigation found he had sexually harassed nearly a dozen women.

Congratulations Sean!!!!!!!
Why is Sean Ryan sending out a series of non-union mailings from the NYS DSCC? Don't you support legitimate unions?
Take me off of your mailing list. Why have I had to call your office four times in the past two weeks, and inbox you twice requesting this? Stop with the junk mail
I just received a flyer from you with great family pictures. Will you post those pictures here?
Thank you for your suggestion of drop boxes for absentee ballots. I have contacted my Assemblyman to ask him to support this action. It will expedite ballots to the Board of Elections. I'm already seeing a slower rate for mail. A package sent from Michigan by 3 day express delivery took 8 days to reach me in Niagara County.
My mother is in a local assisted-living facility. She, and other residents, were kept in their rooms basically 24/7 for approximately seven weeks with very little social interaction. While they can now leave their rooms, they are still locked inside the building, breathing the same stale, recirculated air for eight weeks. Also eight weeks without any personal contact with family members. Residents that are physically able need to be able to go outside for fresh air. Why not allow them to sit on chairs, spaced six feet apart, on the spacious patio? I understand the need to protect their physical health, but their mental health is being completely ignored. This is elder abuse! I would love an opportunity to talk to you about it.
Happy Earth Day !!! ♻️🌏🌿🌻🌺🥀🌹🌼
Thank you for standing up for those who have no voice
Mr. Ryan, they have started to dismantle rides at fantasy island on grand island. More rides have gone up for sale listed on used rides pages online. I do not believe that Apex Parks Group has been honest with you. There are buyers on the table and Nobody seen any kind of response from Apex Parks Group concerning the sale of the park. Is there a way we could expedite the process and mediate a sale? I know Grand Island councilman Mike Madigan has taken calls from respected people interested.
