Students from Buffalo Public Schools & other WNY school districts are spending two weeks 3D printing & assembling prosthetic hands. They are also learning about different careers right here on the BNMC. We were all inspired by the students who participated in our 2nd Annual 3D Print Competition. Students made wind turbines and rockets and had a great time testing them. Thanks to all the sponsors and partners who helped make this possible today: Praxair , National Gridi, Sherex Fastening Solutions LLC , Pfannenberg Incorporated, Staub Manufacturing Solutions, Rippl3D and Buffalo Museum of Science.

Our team brought along some 3D printers to show students what a career in additive manufacturing could be like. The purpose of Manufacturing Day is to inspire the next generation of manufacturers.

The Facts: What is Maker Faire? … As a celebration of the Maker Movement, it’s a family-friendly all ages showcase of invention, creativity, and resourcefulness. It brings together curious people who enjoy learning and love sharing what they can do. Faire gathers together adult and child tech enthusiasts, crafters, educators, tinkerers, food artisans, hobbyists, engineers, science clubs, artists, students, and commercial exhibitors. It is an amazing show and tell! When? Saturday, May 12th, 2018 from 10am-6pm. What does it cost? To have a booth and share your passion is free. If you intend to sell your wares or promote, then there is a $50 table fee. Note- We also hope that vendors will have an interesting display that is either interactive, offers a hands-on activity of some sort, or that teaches others about the craft. How much are tickets to attend the Faire? Presale tickets are available for $5. Day of are $10. There are also free ticketing options such as come in a costume and bring canned food to support the Food Bank of WNY. There are also many opportunities to get involved and volunteer the day of the event if you are interested. The Buffalo Mini Maker Faire “Call For Makers” is NOW OPEN!
