We are so excited to collaborate with the Albright-Knox 2021 Future Curators to present the exhibition: The Presence Of Absence.

This exhibition represents the expression of human emotion at a time when isolation is mandatory. Using misplaced objects, fractured pieces, and lost figures, the artists in the exhibition draw attention to this feeling of disjointedness.

The show opens TODAY! View in person at our gallery during our open hours, and at our friends Buffalo Center for Arts and Technology , or view the show online at https://wnybookarts.org/the-presence-of-absence-2021-ak-teens-future-curators-exhibition/

Take Every Win as a Win | WNY Book Arts Center

"There is a bit of an unwarranted mystique around grant writing, but it is its own sort of writing. It’s important to keep in mind that the funder may not know who you are or what you do, and you want to make it as clear and easy as possible for them to understand and buy into your idea."

We sat down with Book Arts independent grant writer, Kathleen Kearnan (also known as Saint Kathy) to understand the ins & outs of grant writing. Read on at our blog! https://wnybookarts.org/take-every-win-as-a-win/

We are so excited to announce that our very own Nicole, Executive Director, has been selected as this year's recipient of the Arts Services Inc. - ASI as the 'Rising Star!' ⭐️✨

"This award 'honors a relatively new arts administrator who demonstrates the promise of success," and it really means so much to me to have earned this designation from a panel of my arts leadership peers...Our arts & cultural community, the greater nonprofit community, the WNY startup community, all deeply believe in the rising tide - that when one of us succeeds, we all succeed - and I truly would not have made it this far without all of the selfless people who rallied around me," says Nicole.

Join us in congratulating our fearless leader!! ❤ 💪👏

We are very excited to announce the finalists and honorees of the eighth annual Spark Awards presented by M&T Bank! What we do & why we do it

The WNY Book Arts Center exists to promote, encourage and develop Printing & Book related Arts through education and access for individual artists and underserved communities. Through active programs such as workshops and exhibitions, all facets of the printed word and image — printmaking, binding, paper making, illustration, design, writing, and enhanced literacy — can be explored and made accessible to the public as viewer and participant.

If I were entering the artist book show CONTENT I’d enter this pamphlet style security envelope book. I’m not because I’m organizer and one of the jurors ~ but then I get to be the humble librarian for artist books on exhibit in April. ⭐️ Deadline to enter is 2/28. ✨✌🏻✨ OKAY - secret is out - late entries accepted until Tuesday, March 2! This is the first exhibit of it's kind in Davis, California. After such a long, dark period of time weathering crappy politics and a pandemic, I see clearly that artist books are "on fire"! (metaphorically speaking, only) Join in - the more artist book ripples in the world, the better. $10 entry fee. Prospectus: https://theartery.net/content-artists-book-exhibit
Thanks for a great night!!
Thank you for a night of memories with my girl...!! She talked alll the way home! Art is her jam! Can’t wait till next week!!
A chili cookoff would also make a great fundraiser for the WNY Book Arts Center in future winter seasons as well.
looks great!!!!
Can anyone there direct me to where I can get some serious book repairing and old-book restoration training. Thank you.
Next Sunday, 4/28, at 3PM, hope you'll come hear Geoffrey Babbitt, Catherine Taylor, and Shira Dentz read from their new books at Western New York Book Arts Center! There'll be refreshments too!
I planned to meet my son to shop at the new, huge store on Elmwood and could not believe that you are closed on Sundays? People work and look forward to this type of shopping on the weekend. Close Mondays instead if you have to. This doesn't make sense.
