Last week, Brigadier General Eric Gagnon represented the Vermont National Guard at the Africa Land Forces Summit (ALFS), partnering with Brigadier General Simon Ndour and the Senegalese Army. The summit was co-hosted by U.S. Army Southern European Task Force Africa (SETAF-AF) and the Ghanaian Armed Forces (GAF).
Delegations from over thirty African nations, eight NATO allies, and ten U.S. National Guard states came together to engage in strategic dialogue. Discussions centered on regional security challenges, fostering collaboration to identify common solutions and promote long-term regional stability.
