Rain barrels are still available. Order by May 17 for collection at Town Hall.

It's time for our rain barrel drive again! Every two years, we partner with The Great American Rain Barrel Company to distribute rain barrels! This year, the order deadline is May 17th, for our May 30th pickup event happening from 9-11 AM at Burlington Town Hall (29 Center Street).

Rain Barrels are a great way to capture rain water for personal use -- and to save money! Water collected in rain barrels can also be great for use in drought conditions, which is something we've been seeing more of in Massachusetts in recent years. Consider investing in a Rain Barrel this year -- or be ready to patiently wait two more years for this program to come back around! Order now at: https://www.greatamericanrainbarrel.com/community/

Small Trees Make a Big Impact in Burlington🌲

Yesterday at the Library, the Conservation Department partnered with Neighborhood Forest, a nonprofit that provides free trees to children, to distribute Fraser Fir seedlings to local families. Participants signed up in advance and stopped by to pick up their trees to plant at home.

Lucy Hansen from the Town’s Conservation Department helped lead the effort, connecting with families and sharing how these small seedlings can grow into a lasting part of Burlington’s landscape.

Interested in helping expand Burlington’s tree canopy? If you’d like to get involved in future initiatives like this, contact the Conservation Department at [email protected] or 781-270-1655.
