Press Release - Notification

August 23, 2026

(Burlington) – Endeavor Emergency Squad has received re-accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services for its compliance with national standards of excellence. It is one of only 195 ambulance services in North America to successfully complete the voluntary review process, which included completion of a comprehensive application and an on-site review by national experts in emergency medical services (EMS). Endeavor Emergency Squad remains one of only four emergency medical services in the State of New Jersey to accomplish this achievement.

The Commission is a non-profit organization which was established to encourage and promote quality patient care in America’s emergency medical system. The primary focus of the Commission’s standards is high-quality patient care. This is accomplished by establishing national standards which not only address the delivery of patient care, but also the ambulance service’s total operation. Further it sets national standards with its relationships with other agencies, the general public, and the medical community. The Commission’s standards often exceed state and local licensing requirements.

President/CEO Joseph Conrey of Endeavor Emergency Squad said [re-accreditation] “represents our firm commitment to our patients and the communities we serve. Endeavor continuously strives to do our best and viewed accreditation as another step towards excellence. Our dedicated team has been key to our successful completion of the process. I think it gives the feeling of prestige and pride to work in an accredited EMS agency.” President Conrey also said everyone has played a valuable role in the ability to meet the Commission’s high standards. We have achieved accreditation but believe it can only be a stimulus for continued improvement.

Endeavor Emergency Squad is the sole provider of basic life support – emergency medical services to Burlington City, Burlington Township, Edgewater Park Township, Beverly City and half of Springfield Township. By the end of 2026, Endeavor will respond to more than 8,200 calls for assistance. During peak operational hours, Endeavor staffs our main station in Burlington Township as well as substations in Burlington City and Beverly/Edgewater Park. The dedicated staff of Team Endeavor, both new and old, has served their communities since 1940.

Over the past two days, we had our onsite inspection for accreditation with CAAS. We will be notified in a couple weeks if we are re-accredited.

Accreditation is not merely a certification; it is a continuous process that helps agencies identify risks, enhance systems, and maintain high-quality service delivery. CAAS accreditation is widely regarded as the “Gold Standard” for EMS agencies, going beyond the minimum regulatory requirements to define what excellance looks like.

We are very proud of our staff and the work they do day-in and day-out!
