Looking for ways to stretch your grocery budget this summer?
3SquaresVT provides monthly benefits that can be used at grocery stores, convenience stores, co-ops, and many farmers markets. More than 63,400 Vermonters in over 38,600 households participate in the program, including more than 18,500 children, 17,400 older adults, and 19,200 people with disabilities.
Many households are surprised to learn they may qualify. You may be eligible if your household income is at or below 185% of the Federal Poverty Level. Households that include someone age 60+ or a person with a disability may qualify under different rules.
Benefits are loaded onto an EBT card each month and can be used at more than 600 food retailers across Vermont and over 40 farmers markets. Through programs like Crop Cash, many farmers markets also provide extra dollars for purchasing local fruits and vegetables.
