Real Estate For A CAUSE

What an awesome day we are having today at Real Estate For A CAUSE. 🙌 Had the privilege of meeting with a new charity partner, Autism Support & Resource Center.

Jodi Holbrook and James Mirolli were able to meet with the owner Anne and the director Amy. We had a great talk and had a wonderful time learning more about what they do. They do amazing things over there including a yearly summer camp program, tailored dance classes, monthly socials, tailored sports programs, an annual walk/run for Autism, special needs art classes, family events, and an onsite center-based ABA clinic.

Thank you ASRC for taking the time to meet with us and give us so much information. We feel honored to work with such an amazing group. We also love the awesome gifts we received! See them below! ⬇⬇ The cup says it all. See the able, not the label.

Please check out their website for more information: http://www.geneseeautism.org/

Looking to buy or sell your home? 🏡 Let us help you so we can help this amazing group of individuals provide social, recreational, and life skill experiences to those living with autism across the lifespan.

Hello ASRC Members! We miss you all dearly and hope you are all healthy and safe. As our community begins a slow return to life as we knew it, we want to update you on how our organization needs to maintain fidelity to the Governor’s Executive Orders related to distancing and capacity requirements.

As you may know, last week, Gov. Whitmer announced new guidelines for gatherings as they relate to recreational facilities like ours. That guideline states that organizations like ours must adhere to keeping distances of 6 feet between participants and must also not exceed 50% of normal capacity. Given these guidelines, we will not be hosting classes or socials for the remainder of June at the ASRC. We expect this to last into the month of July, but will keep you posted of any changes.

With regard to Life Skills Classes that were postponed from March…we will be contacting those families who were enrolled about potential reschedule dates for August (dependent on guidelines at that time) in the very near future.

It is our hope to welcome everyone back in a manner that is safe for our participants and staff members. In the meantime, know that we miss you and look forward to time together very soon!

Please help us in thanking the generous group from GM Cares who again offered time and talent to help beautify ASRC! They painted our fencing, sealed the Gaga ball pit, built a new cabinet and did an overall Fall clean up of our yard and interior building. We are incredibly grateful for GM Cares selecting us as a volunteer site for the third year led by Damien Christopher. The support and generosity from our community allow us to continue making a positive impact on the lives of those living with autism!

ASRC is pleased to announce that we were selected by Community Foundation of Flint’s Gen Forward Network as their 2018 grantee! We were awarded over $6,000 for life skill programs which enabled us to purchase chrome books, supplies and materials to enhance our offerings as well as offer assistant stipends to ensure participants have the optimum level of support.

Gen Forward is a network of emerging philanthropists working towards the greater good of Genesee County. ASRC is incredibly grateful that our organization has been recognized and supported by this esteemed philanthropic network.

April is National Autism Awareness Month and we'd like to spotlight the 2018 Gen Forward Network grantee, The Autism Support and Resource Center, who received a $6,000 grant. Grant funds supported transitional programs that offer life skills classes that build confidence, well-being and independence.
