As a Town Councilman and candidate for County Commissioner, I plan to attend the North Falls Lake Area Study Community Open House on Tuesday, May 19 from 4–7 PM at the Creedmoor Community Center, and I encourage everyone to attend if you can. This is an important opportunity for our community to learn about proposed land use and transportation recommendations, ask questions, and provide feedback that will help shape the future of our area.

With more than 20,000 new residents expected over the next 25 years, it’s critical that we work together to plan responsibly for growth, infrastructure, and quality of life in northern Granville County. If you’re unable to attend in person, you can still review the plans and submit comments online through May 26 at https://publicinput.com/NFallsLake.

Happy Mother’s Day to three generations of incredible women who have helped shape my life. To my Mom, thank you for raising me with so much love, compassion, and selflessness, and for being such an amazing “Gigi.” To my Grandma, thank you for the love, understanding, and confidence you poured into me from an early age. And to my wife, watching you become such an incredible mother has been one of the greatest honors of my life. Maddox and I are truly blessed to have you all in our lives.

Incredibly honored to have the opportunity to represent the Town of Butner alongside our Town Council and Mayor this week at CityVision 2026 hosted by the North Carolina League of Municipalities. Grateful to have been recognized with the Financial Management Certificate and Certificate of Municipal Achievement, and proud that the Town of Butner was also recognized with the Commit to Civility designation — one of only 9 municipalities in North Carolina to receive this honor. Opportunities like this allow local leaders to learn, collaborate, and bring valuable ideas back home to better serve our community.

I strongly oppose Part V, Section 5 of Senate Bill 214, which would allow Franklin County to acquire property in neighboring counties without local consent. This sets a dangerous precedent that undermines local authority and opens the door to unchecked government overreach. I stand with the Granville County Board of Commissioners in their resolution opposing this bill and fully support protecting our community’s voice and resources. As your County Commissioner, I will always put Granville County first and defend the rights and interests of our citizens.
