🌞 Stay Safe in the Heat! 🌞

Hot weather can be especially dangerous for older adults. Follow these simple tips to stay healthy and comfortable during hot days:

💧 Drink plenty of water throughout the day, even if you don't feel thirsty.

🏠 Stay indoors in air-conditioned spaces whenever possible, especially between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

👕 Wear lightweight, loose-fitting, light-colored clothing.

☀️ Avoid strenuous outdoor activities during the hottest part of the day.

🧢 Use sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses when outdoors.

🍉 Eat light meals and enjoy foods with high water content like fruits and vegetables.

📞 Check on family, friends, and neighbors, especially those who live alone.

⚠️ Know the warning signs of heat-related illness: dizziness, headache, nausea, rapid pulse, confusion, or excessive sweating. Seek medical attention immediately if symptoms become severe.

Remember: When temperatures rise, taking precautions can save lives. Stay cool, stay hydrated, and stay connected! 💙

Another fantastic Country BBQ today! 🎶🍔🌭

A huge thank you to our incredible Bridge Crew for all of their hard work in making today's event such a success. From setup to cleanup, their dedication and teamwork helped create a wonderful afternoon for everyone who attended.

We were also thrilled to welcome musical guest Matt York, whose outstanding performance was made possible through the Massachusetts Cultural Grant Program. His music provided the perfect soundtrack for a great day of food, friends, and community.

Thank you to everyone who joined us—we look forward to seeing you at our next event! 🎵☀️🤠

The Menu for the Bridge Cafe next week: Wednesday is the Country BBQ at 12:00 noon with entertainment by Matt York - there are only 8 spots left for this event! $10 at the COA Office. Thursday, 6/11 menu is Corn Chowder, Tossed Salad, Chicken or Tuna Salad Sandwich and Gourmet Cookies for dessert. Serving 11:30 am -1:00 pm.
