🚒 Cadillac is growing — VOTE YES on the FIRE MILLAGE.
Our community is growing, and the demand for emergency services continues to increase. Passing the Fire Millage on November 3 will provide the funding needed to help ensure our department has the personnel it needs to respond when you dial 911.
This millage is dedicated exclusively to the Cadillac Fire Department and will help strengthen fire protection and emergency response for our community.

Traffic is still being rerouted at this time while MSP and WCSO continue investigation. We remain on scene to assist with traffic. Please continue seeking alternate routes around the half mile section of Mackjnaw Trail, north of Meijer and Home Depot.

We are on the scene of a motor vehicle accident involving extrication near Jeff’s Fireworks. The Cadillac Fire Department, Michigan State Police, Wexford County Sheriff’s Office, and Mobile Medical Response is on the scene as well assisting. Mackinaw Trail traffic is being rerouted. Please seek an alternate route. Thank you.

Gov. Gretchen Whitmer has ordered flags across the state lowered to honor a Detroit firefighter who died in the line of duty.

Today, we remember Kris Eggle, who was tragically killed in the line of duty 24 years ago.

Kris began his career with the National Park Service in 1995 at Great Smoky Mountains National Park before serving as a U.S. Law Enforcement Park Ranger at Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore and Canyonlands National Park. He arrived at Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument in 2000.

As a park ranger, Kris took great pride in his work of providing for the safety of visitors; during his time at Organ Pipe Cactus, he served as an emergency medical technician, a wildland firefighter, and performed search and rescue operations.

August 15, on what would have been Kris' 53rd birthday, current and former NPS rangers and others will be running the length of the 21-mile Ajo Mountain Drive to honor Kris' memory.
