Did you know, The Current Agricultural Use Valuation program was enacted by Ohio voters in 1973 as a means to preserve farmland. Renewal forms are required to be filed every year per state law to remain on the program. Please visit our website, https://www.harrisoncountyohio.gov/AgLand

A Message from Harrison County Auditor, Clint A. Barr...

As Harrison County Auditor, my responsibility is to ensure that our property tax system is fair, transparent, and administered according to Ohio law. Property taxes are the primary source of funding for our local schools, safety services, and essential community operations. Every dollar collected stays here in Harrison County to support the services our residents rely on every day.

Ohio law requires county auditors to determine the fair market value of all real property. The values are updated regularly to reflect changes in the real estate market, new construction, and property improvements. My office does not set tax rates. Rates are established by local governments and school districts, and most are approved directly by you, the voter, through levies.

I recognize that rising property values can create financial pressure for homeowners, especially those on fixed incomes. My office is committed to accuracy and accountability in the valuation process, and we encourage homeowners to review their property information and contact us with questions or concerns. We are also happy to assist taxpayers in understanding available credits and reductions, including the Homestead Exemption and other forms of tax relief.

My goal is to maintain a property tax system that is equitable, understandable, and responsive to the needs of our community. I remain committed to open communication and to providing clear information so that every resident understands how property taxes are calculated and how those funds support the services that keep Harrison County strong.

The final day to purchase your 2026 dog tag without penalty is Saturday, January 31st.

🐕 Kennel licenses must be purchased through the Harrison County Dog Warden.
🐶 All dogs 3 months or older are required to be licensed.

A dog license is one of the best tools for reuniting lost pets with their families. Thank you for helping keep Harrison County’s dogs safe and protected. 🐾

Provide your Account ID and Password or a past license number. If valid, a shopping cart is made having your renewing licenses.
