A huge “Thank You” to everyone who made our RVFPD Auxiliary fish fry & bake sale a huge success. That includes our bakers, cookers, fisher-persons, and all other volunteers. We especially appreciate all of the community members who still came out despite the rain!

FD was paged to the area of Hwy 5 and Pitchford LN for a Grass Fire. Upon arrival it was determined that fire was an abandoned structure. Salesville was assisted by Tracy Area Fire & Rescue, Norfork Volunteer Fire Department, and Rodney Jordan Volunteer Fire Department. Crews were on scene approximately 2 hours.

The Hole-in-one challenge is still going on this holiday weekend on Friday & Saturday! Give it a try at Jordan Marina. This is staffed by Rodney-Jordan firefighters, Auxiliary members & Commissioners. It benefits the fire dept.; proceeds will be used to fund a lift for the new fire boat. So come out & have a great time!

The Rodney-Jordan VFPD Auxiliary fish fry & bake sale is coming up on July 11. The fish has been caught by some of our members & is Lake Norfork catfish. The baked goods will be made by some of our great bakers (if you’ve been to our potlucks, you know). So come on out and support our first responders. All proceeds benefit the fire dept.

FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR MOST OF IZARD COUNTY

This warning could soon be extended to the remainder of the county.

With a Flash Flood Warning now in effect, please use extreme caution if you must travel, especially after dark. Heavy rainfall can quickly cause creeks, streams, and low-water crossings to become dangerous.

Never attempt to drive through flooded roadways. The depth of the water and condition of the roadway beneath may be impossible to determine. Just a small amount of moving water can sweep a vehicle off the road.

Remember: Turn Around, Don't Drown.
If you encounter a flooded roadway:

• Turn around and find an alternate route.

• Obey all road closure signs and barricades.

• Slow down during heavy rain and watch for standing water.

• Stay alert for rapidly changing conditions.
Please continue to monitor local weather reports and be prepared for additional warnings or advisories.
