Rep. Andy Harris, M.D. You chair this subcommittee, and you led this bill. True.

On July 3, 2025, you voted for the final One Big Beautiful Bill — the largest cut to SNAP in the program’s history. For the first time in 50 years, states are forced to pay for food benefits.

Here’s the part worth understanding: the tax cuts in that bill started right away. The food cuts don’t hit until October 1, 2027 — after the 2026 midterms. That’s by design. You put the popular part before the election and the painful part after, so voters feel the relief before they ever feel the loss — and cast their ballots in between.

MD-01: 33,613 households on SNAP. 15,684 of them have children. The bill is already law. The cut is just waiting for the calendar.

Both are your record.

Today, advanced the FY27 Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act.

From Maryland’s Eastern Shore to rural communities across the country, farmers and ranchers deserve policies that put agriculture first. This bill cuts unnecessary spending, strengthens agricultural production, and invests in the long-term success of American agriculture.

Proud to lead this effort as Chairman of the Agriculture Appropriations Subcommittee.

June first. The start of Pride.

It’s easy to forget, under all the rainbow logos that show up today and vanish July first, that this began as a riot. That the first Pride was people who were done being told to disappear, refusing to. There were no sponsors. There was a brick, a bar, a line that finally held.

That history matters most in the places where it’s hardest. In a small town on the Eastern Shore, being visible is not a marketing decision. It’s a kid deciding whether the truth is worth the risk of telling it. It’s a couple holding hands on Race Street and clocking who’s watching. It’s showing up to a thing in deep-red county lines knowing the flag in your window is a sentence, not a slogan.

So this is the part people skip: Pride is not a celebration of having arrived. It’s a refusal to go back. It’s joy used as a weapon, which is the hardest kind to take from someone. Every person who lives out loud in a place that would rather they didn’t is doing the oldest work there is—taking up space that was never offered, only won.

Happy Pride. Be loud. Be a problem. Take up the room.

in 1921, the two-day Tulsa Race Massacre began.

A white mob attacked the predominantly Black Greenwood neighborhood of Tulsa, Oklahoma, destroying homes, businesses and entire city blocks of what was known as “Black Wall Street.”

As many as 300 people were killed, thousands were left homeless, and generations of Black wealth and opportunity were erased.

The Tulsa Race Massacre remains one of the deadliest acts of racial violence in U.S. history and a reminder of the lasting impact of white supremacist violence.

Helpful info — growers should apply by Aug. 7. fsa.usda.gov/ascf

But for the record: this is a USDA program created under existing authority. No bill, no vote. Rep. Andy Harris, M.D. didn’t write it or fund it — he’s relaying it.

And it only exists because tariffs triggered retaliation against our farm exports. Americans paid more, farmers lost markets, and now public money covers the gap. Apply if you qualify — just don’t mistake the cleanup for the win.

Hi Rep. Andy Harris, M.D., at least tell the people what the SAVE ACT does. Which you won’t do and we know why. Here’s what the bill does for inquiring minds:

Federal law already requires every voter registration applicant to affirm citizenship under penalty of perjury. Harris voted for H.R. 22, adding a documentary proof-of-citizenship requirement. The Brennan Center estimates more than 21 million eligible U.S. citizens lack ready access to those documents. When Kansas enacted the same requirement, it blocked approximately 31,000 eligible citizens — about 12% of all applicants — before courts struck it down.

Rep. Andy Harris, M.D. you consistently vote NO on healthcare funding. You vote to cut Medicaid. You vote against healthcare expansions. You opposed the ACA. Meanwhile, Three Lower Counties got this $3.1 million through a competitive HHS process independent of your office—not because of you. You can’t claim credit for supporting rural healthcare while voting against it. Pick a lane.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Congressman Andy Harris, M.D. (MD-01), announced that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services awarded $3,139,017 through the Health Center Program to Three Lower Counties Community Services, Inc. to support care on Maryland’s Eastern Shore.Statement from Congre...
