How Far Away Is Your Emergency Water Supply?

If your community's pond or lake is only 500 feet from the road, it may be closer than you think.

Firefighters regularly use static water sources during wildfires when hydrants are unavailable. The key is having a safe, reliable access plan in place before an emergency occurs.
See how communities are improving wildfire preparedness using existing water sources.

🔥 Water supply shouldn't slow down firefighting. 🔥

This video shows how Remote Hydrants provides automated, dependable water access in areas where traditional hydrants don't exist.
By connecting to lakes, ponds, reservoirs, or other remote water sources, Remote Hydrants helps keep water moving with minimal personnel, reduced apparatus wear, and faster turnaround times for water tenders.

Mosquito Fire Protection District- Station 75 A big thank you to all of the organizers, partners, volunteers, and community members who made today's event such a success. We appreciate the invitation and the opportunity to be part of an event focused on wildfire preparedness, evacuation readiness, and community resilience.
It was great connecting with residents and fellow agencies, sharing how Remote Hydrants can help improve emergency water access and support firefighting efforts in areas where traditional water infrastructure may be limited.

Great demo with Clear Lake Fire Safe Council. Instead of relying on local hydrants that can run dry during a major incident, this setup allows crews to utilize water directly from Clear Lake—providing a reliable, high-volume source when it matters most.
Expanding access beyond fixed infrastructure helps strengthen response capability and keeps water flowing where it’s needed most.
