During Mental Illness Awareness Week, we're highlighting that mental health conditions and substance use disorders often occur together.

That's why Pennsylvania's Behavioral Health Action Plan emphasizes integrated, whole-person care—helping ensure people with co-occurring conditions can access the support they need in one coordinated system.

📞 Concerned about alcohol or drug use—for yourself or a loved one? Call 1-800-662-HELP (4357) for free, confidential support, available 24/7, including help finding treatment for people who are uninsured or underinsured.

📞 If you or someone you know is experiencing a mental health crisis or emotional distress, call or text 988 to reach the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline.

Diaper need is all too real for moms like Morgan, whose baby, Arneld, receives our diapers every month.

For too many South Central PA moms, having enough diapers isn't a given. They wake up and count diapers every morning, wondering if they have enough.

National Diaper Need Awareness Week begins today.

Please help by donating funds, hosting a diaper drive, or share our posts this week to raise awareness about diaper need around us.

If you live in South Central PA, Healthy Steps Diaper Bank is your local diaper bank.

We need your support to help moms who rely on us every day.

Sometimes there are signs that someone you care about might be having a really hard time—especially if something feels new, has gotten worse, or follows a painful event or big change. A few things to watch for include:
• Talking about wanting to die
• Looking for ways to hurt themselves
• Saying they feel hopeless or have no reason to live
• Talking about feeling trapped or in unbearable pain
• Saying they feel like a burden
• Increased use of alcohol or drugs
• Acting anxious, agitated, or behaving recklessly
• Sleeping much more or much less than usual
• Withdrawing or isolating themselves
• Showing rage or talking about revenge
Extreme mood swings
If you notice any of these signs in yourself or someone you know, reach out for help. The 988 Lifeline is available anytime—just call or text 988.

It's National Diaper Need Awareness Week!

Without enough diapers, babies are exposed to health risks, they can't attend daycare or preschool, and parents miss work and wages - perpetuating the cycle of poverty.

Please help us serve the local families struggling to afford diapers by donating funds, by hosting a diaper drive, or by sharing our posts this week to raise awareness about diaper need around us.

If you live in South Central PA, Healthy Steps Diaper Bank is your local diaper bank.
