Post 96 accountability will go tomorrow as planned. The Battalion will conduct a phone recall Thursday during the Base closure. Word for Friday will be passed by the Chain of Command on Thursday evening.

WINTER WEATHER UPDATE: Camp Lejeune has set Winter Storm Condition Two (WSC II) effective at 11 a.m. Tues., Jan. 2, 2018 as winter precipitation, including ice, sleet and snow, is forecast for the base community in the next 24 hours. The forecasted storm could potentially deliver between 1 to 4 inches of snow with locally higher amounts for portions of the surrounding community.

As a result, the base will make the following precautionary adjustments to the normal operating schedule:

- A liberal leave policy is in effect for Government employees from 7-11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018. Active duty personnel return from New Year’s 96 and follow reporting instructions for your chain of command.

- Essential services and personnel ONLY from 11:01 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018 through Thursday, Jan. 4, 2018.

The base expects to return to normal operations and normal reporting times Friday, Jan. 5, 2018.

All personnel are reminded that winter precipitation presents serious hazards for travel in eastern N.C., and every effort should be made to limit the amount of personnel on the roads during and immediately after the storm in order to reduce risk to those who must travel. If you are new to the unit, and your spouse has not yet been introduced to the Family Readiness Officer, we encourage you to bring them by to meet the FRO team. The military spouse is an integral part of the military team. Feedback from tonight's Town Hall Meeting with 8th Comm Spouses and the Battalion Commander indicated that some spouses did not know how they could be of service. The Town Hall was a success, and while it was a small group of spouses in a private setting, there was a variety of ideas brought up by both seasoned and brand new spouses. Please take a few minutes to bring your spouse to meet our FRO team to see just how much of an impact they are able to make.
