The pros of online notarization vs e-sign?

E-sign is a apart of daily life it seems. E-Signing and online notarization and/or IPEN are different tools with different purposes and levels of security. E-sign is a good way to take care of your business with more expedience than traditional mail and delivery, or driving somewhere to meet those whom you are signing documents with/for. It has an absolute distinct place in life.

Today, let's talk about the differences in security with e-sign vs online notarization.

E-Signing allows users to electronically sign documents, which can be legally binding. However, e-Signing doesn't provide additional identity verification. That is where a Notary comes in. E-signatures are valid if the signers clearly intend to sign the document, which can be done by typing, clicking an Accept button, or drawing a signature.

Vs.

Online Notarization and/or IPEN, which provides legal verification and authentication of documents, and also verifies the identity of the signer(s) through a notary. Online notarization is a good option for high-value or sensitive agreements where identity verification is important. In-person electronic notarization can provide similar levels of security. However, online notarization (RoN), can be done between multiple parties in different locations, with a fairly quick turn around time and additional security measure with the identity checks required.

All of these are valid. It's just a matter of what level of security you are looking for when it comes to having a verified identity of a signer on a document, and if/and your documents calls for a notary in the first place.

There are many options for Notary Services, and that Notaries provide many different services, with training, and over time.

Today I want to talk about IPEN. IPEN is another option available when having your documents notarized.

In Texas, an in-person electronic notary involves a notary public and signer meeting in the same room to perform a notarization on an electronic document. The notary uses an electronic notary seal, electronic signatures, and an electronic notarial certificate.

In e-notarization (IPEN), the notary uses digital signatures but must occur in the physical presence of the notary, similarly to a traditional/pen and paper notarization. However, the documents for an IPEN transaction between notary and client will be digital. In remote notarization, the person is not in the physical presence of the notary but is present through audio and visual equipment such as a we**am.

What is great about this e-notarization process, is it is done with a digital certificate. Therefore, the document cannot be tampered with once it is notarized by the notary. This may be a great option for those that still would like in-person notarization, but whose documents are all online/electronic.

Not all states allow all the above processes outside of traditional pen and paper notarizations. You would need to check with Notaries in your state for the IPEN process availability/state laws. In Texas we have IPEN as a viable option.

It's official! I am now verified with, and have access to platforms in order to complete your online notary needs. I can send a link to you when you require a notarization to be done online. Otherwise known as Remote Online Notary, or RoN.

Reach out either by email, phone, or even here on Facebook messanger. I will get a link to you, set up a time, and together we will get your documents notarized and sealed. All from the comfort of your home, and/or place of business. I have gone over these platforms, and they seem relatively easy to use. Both for a notary and for the notary clients.

Remember, with online notarization, I can notarize for you even if you are located outside of the state of Texas. So, do not hesitate to reach out. I am available 24/7.

Notary business in modern times, requires modern capabilities. I have done just that. I have armed myself with the proper commission, knowledge and tools. Extended my notarization capability for you. Within the next week, I will have everything up and running to bring clients to Online Notarization. The storm on Monday was quite the ride for so many. Rolling in from a strong apring atorm season, to an early strong hurricane season is atressful for all. Rural Notary just wants to shout out to everyone who was in the path, those who have been affected by any of these storms..... we hope you are doing well.
