PRESS RELEASE from the Office of the Canton Police Chief:

The Canton Police Department, along with the West Central Illinois Task Force, executed a search warrant on Wednesday, May 27th, at 229 W Vine St. This stemmed from a months-long drug investigation into co***ne and crack co***ne in the Canton community.

This operation resulted in the arrest of Michael T. Wherley, 49, of Canton.

Wherley was charged with the following :
Possession of Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver over 200 grams.
Possession of Controlled Substances - 2 counts
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Possession of Fi****ms Ammunition No FOID.
Delivery of a Controlled Substance - 5 counts

All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
