Mission of Love Charities Requests Holiday Donations
Food & Toys Needed for Thanksgiving and Christmas

Capitol Heights, MD – The Mission of Love Charities (MOLC) will collect and distribute food baskets and toys to more than 300 needy families in the Washington Metropolitan area for the Thanksgiving and
Christmas holiday seasons.

“It‘s that time of year again when we ask ourselves what it is like not having money for a Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner for my family?” says Dr. Douglas E. Edwards, Founder of the Mission of Love Charities. Well many of the families we serve here at MOLC know exactly what it’s like to go hungry every day when faced with today’s economic challenges.”

To continue doing what it does best – helping the poor and disadvantaged – MOLC needs the support of the community. And we especially thank previous benefactors like Steve Proctor and Associates for their generous contributions every year to help serve our clients in need.

There are three (3) ways to donate this year:

•MOLC will be receiving non-perishable food items for the food baskets and unwrapped new toys starting Monday, November 5, 2012 through Monday, December 10, 2012 at our headquarters at 6180 Old Central Avenue, Capitol Heights, MD 20743.
•MOLC will also collect nonperishable food and unwrapped toy donations at its annual Mitten Mixer at FedExField in Landover, Maryland, on Thursday, December 6, 2012 from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
•MOLC also can receive your monetary gifts to purchase toys and food the on donors’ behalf. Distribution of donations will take place on November 20 & 21 and December 20 & 21, 2012.

Additionally, financial donations may be made on line at www.MOLCInc.org, or via postal mail.

Questions regarding donations may be directed to Denise Robinson at 301-333-4440 or at [email protected]. Media inquiries should be sent directly to Sheri Betts at [email protected].

“We are most appreciative of your support, especially during the holiday season,” says Ms. Denise Robinson, MOLC’s Office Manager and Holiday Food and Toy Drive Project Manager; “Our prayers
and well wishes are with you and yours.”

MOLC is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization providing free programs and services to under-served residents to meet their immediate and short-term needs, as well as tools for long-term stability and
growth.

Mission of Love Charities, Inc.

Dear Friend/Supporter/Philanthropist:

MOLC needs access to funds NOW to continue serving the community and helping people in poverty. Our organization is a critical deterrent to the criminal elements and activities that follow poverty. Without an infusion of funds, we will close by April, 2012.

We help the community and the individuals within it and change lives by helping people become self-sufficient. Can you remember the first time you attempted to ride a bike, I certainly can. Dad would run beside me at first, then eventually behind me, but still trying to keep me from falling, while continually encouraging me, until I started to ride without his help.

Well, at Mission of Love Charities, Inc. (MOLC) we see people like this every day, they need someone to stabilize them until they ride by themselves, and some of them will return and help us help others. However, we must also remember, some will fall several times before they get the hang of it, but if we help them up again, and provide positive encouragement; they will try again and again until they get it right. Won't you help that family that's trying to ride for the first time - it does not matter why and how they got started late in life, when they are ready to move forward, they need our help.

If you would take the time to read the letter at the link below, "A PLEA FOR SURVIVAL", you will know why it is essential to help not only save this giant of a non-profit, but to help sustain, maintain, and grow it. We want to continue help people "ride the bike of life" and stay on--without falling. That's how we got our motto of "Helping People, Changing Lives." We not only want to help people, but we also want to transform their lives--and we are doing so one person at a time.

Thank you and I hope you will find it in your heart and your bank account (or refer us to someone who can) to help save MOLC!

Please keep Mission of Love Charities in your prayers during this holiday season. A 20 year old non-profit, critical to the needs of Prince George’s County and neighboring poverty stricken communities, will soon close due to a lack of funding. We need ideas on how to procure funding...
