Thank you to Detective Brook Lam, Officer Sawicki, CSI Reed, CRO Mathis, Sgt. Lattan and Officer Stewart, among many others, who helped the students in Mrs. Liss' class have a great tour at CPD. They watched a K-9 demonstration, collected some "evidence" and met a lot of great people at the PD. It was a great way to get involved and to get to know each other. Thank you to all the students for coming to visit!

We just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has contributed to the 53 new coats donated so far! These are always some of the greatest gifts that some kids will receive! And yes, we do still need more!

If you would be interested in helping out with this great cause, donations are still being accepted at the SIU Men’s and Women’s basketball games, at City Hall and the Carbondale Police Department lobby. Thank you!!!!

This is not a local video, but it does prove the fact that most criminals don't even want to take the time to "break in" to cars. The reason they ran away so fast was because of their number one motivation throughout all of this: Don't get caught! Good job to this family who decided to LOCK THIER CARS. Also, please report this activity to police, even if the suspects did not get anything. Video or descriptions of the suspects and their vehicles can be so valuable to these and other ongoing investig*tions. See something, say something. I guarantee these suspects did successfully get into a car somewhere that night. And check out the red car suspect: no gloves, and fingerprints all over the doors. Thank you!

The next Team Illinois Youth Camp – Carbondale will be held at SIU’s Touch of Nature Environmental Center June 9-15, 2024. This highly structured, week-long residency aims to equip at-risk teenagers with skills to resist drugs, gangs, violence, and other societal pressures. It includes physical training exercises and classroom instruction, all of which are coordinated by police officers, military personnel, and social service agencies throughout Southern Illinois.
