Red clover seed harvest in Oregon's Willamette Valley!

Those beautiful flowers are now dry but the seed is really tucked in there, the combine has to be adjusted and work extra hard to separate the seed.

The red clover is drying down nicely and will be ready to harvest soon!

Those really pretty purple flowers are now dry and crunchy, with tiny little round seeds developing in there. It's definitely not as pretty as it used to be.

It's not drying as consistently as I had hoped and I'm not totally sure why?? But it also shouldn't be much of a problem. It's doing great things for the soil too.

I will windrow then combine it, same process as the turf grass, and the seed will be cleaned then sold.

I'll share more once harvest starts!

You're sitting in a combine all day, what are you bringing for an afternoon snack and drink?

For me...Diet Coke and some kind of gummy sour candy, I'm not too picky. I like sour skittles, sour patch kids, Nerds gummy clusters, anything in the gummy and preferably sour family. The Diet Coke is a must. What about you?
