School Board Election - TODAY!
The time is NOW—TODAY, I’m Vincent Furfaro, running for School Board, and I need YOUR vote at Mahopac High School, 6 AM - 9 PM. With children in elementary school, middle school, high school and as the owner of a commercial contracting company, I’m 100% COMMITTED to building stronger schools. If you elect me, I’ll address every issue with facts and sharp judgment, prioritizing our students and taxpayers. I’ll demand measurable policies and hold teachers, administration, facilities, and the board accountable for every outcome—good or bad. My Republican affiliation? It’s irrelevant—my focus is Mahopac’s kids and families. Don’t wait—VOTE FOR ME TODAY, 6 AM - 9 PM

School Board Election - TOMORROW!

If you elect me, I’ll tackle every issue on its own merits, using subjective and objective information to make the best decisions for our students and taxpayers. Problems—current or future—will be met with facts and sound judgment. I’ll push for measurable policies, allowing adjustments to keep us on track. Teachers, administration, facilities, and the school board must all be accountable for our decisions, whether the outcomes are positive or negative. Elect me, and I’ll make this my top priority—ensuring our schools thrive through transparency, accountability, and smart solutions.

While I’m a registered Republican, I believe party affiliation has no place in school board decisions—my focus is on what’s best for Mahopac’s students and families.

Mahopac, I’ve heard some concerns on Facebook about whether I’d assign myself work in our school district if elected to the Board of Education. Let me be crystal clear: I would never do that. It’s not just unethical—it’s against the rules and regulations governing our district. My commitment is to serve our students, families, and community with integrity, ensuring every decision prioritizes their needs, not personal gain.

The last issue I talked about during the meet the candidates night was “closing the skills gap” I’m committed to addressing a critical issue facing both our nation and our community: the growing disconnect between education, work, and opportunity. America has slowly drifted from valuing the dignity of skilled labor. Here in Mahopac, we see the same trends that are reshaping our country.
For decades, trade schools, community colleges, and apprenticeships have been dismissed as “alternatives” to a 4 year college degree. This mindset has devalued the skilled trades—careers that built our communities and keep them running. The result? A national skills gap with over 7.6 million jobs unfilled, many requiring no degree. In Mahopac, our students deserve better guidance to explore all paths to success, not just the corner office.
High schools, including ours, have phased out vocational programs, leaving students unprepared for viable, well-paying careers in the trades. If elected, I’ll advocate for a Mahopac education system that redefines a “good job” and prepares students for the real world. I want to bring back vocational training, promote trade schools, and celebrate hard work alongside smart work. Our kids deserve to know that a career in the skilled trades is not a consolation prize—it’s a path to pride, prosperity, and purpose.
FYI if you are interested I got much of my information from https://mikeroweworks.org
This page offers scholarships to hardworking students. If you or your kids think this may be a viable route, I’d definitely check it out!!!

America is profoundly disconnected. We’re working to change that.

So… some more about me. I own a commercial construction company. We operate locally. I have two equal partners. The company we built runs on input from each partner. We don’t make any big decisions without the other two partners agreeing. On the surface, this seems like it wouldn’t be very efficient. But we keep a few simple things in mind. There are no sides. There is no stopping or blocking each other. We do our best to operate Vinco like its own entity. What is good for Vinco is good for all of us and our families. The same should go for the school board. To me, there is one main question the board should be asking itself before any decision is made: “Does this support the students?”

At the recent Meet the Candidates night, I was asked, "What are your top three priorities if elected to the school board?"

The school board addresses many critical issues, from academics to facilities, but I approached this question by focusing on what resonates deeply with our community and my vision for our students. One of my top priorities is to strengthen the Mahopac Sports Association (MSA) as a true feeder program for Mahopac Varsity athletics. One of my key priorities is to make the Mahopac Sports Association (MSA) a true feeder program for our Varsity athletics. Here's why this matters: Our elementary and middle school athletes in MSA are the future of Mahopac's proud athletic tradition. They deserve the same opportunities as our JV and Varsity stars! My plan includes:
• Consistent Training: Teaching MSA athletes the same fundamentals used in Varsity programs to prepare them for success.
• Fair Field Access: Ensuring MSA teams have equitable use of school fields with proper facilities, not late practices or mismatched fields (like football in a baseball outfield!). By investing in MSA, we can help every student-athlete build skills, confidence, and teamwork from an early age. I want to help create a seamless path to success for athletes at every level, on and off the field.

“Hi Mahopac! As a father of five and candidate for the Mahopac Board of Education, I’m committed to policies that put our kids first. I’ll push for a balanced curriculum with strong reading foundations, critical thinking, and respect for our community’s values. Fair access to sports fields for all athletes is a must, and with my experience at Vinco Builders, I’ll ensure smart budgeting to upgrade our facilities. New bathrooms are coming soon. What education policy matters most to you?
