Re-Elect Mayor Kevin Falconer - Campaign Rally and Food Drive

Hi all! Come help us get the re-election campaign restarted this weekend! To keep everyone safe, we're inviting you to stop by our new house (we finished construction, but haven't moved in yet) in small groups in 30 minute time intervals. Stop by to say "hi", pick up a sign and sign up to help. We're also encouraging all who are able to bring a jar of peanut butter to donate to the North Texas Food Bank as part of the Mayor's Peanut Butter Food Drive.

Sign up times are below. We hope to see you this weekend!

It's time to get the campaign started again.  Since we can't gather as a big group, we're inviting you to stop by our new house (we haven't moved in just yet, but construction is complete).  Pick up a sign, let us know how you can help, say hello to Kevin and Susan, and take a look at our new abod...

I've taken a bit of a break from social media since this crisis began, but I want to take a moment to say how proud I am of our residents and our city. I love our diversity and today was symbolic of how we can lead in this effort to end inequality in our society. These tragedies we've seen across our country show how much farther we have to go. We can do better and we will do better. Love will overcome hate.

We're proud of the peaceful demonstration in Carrollton today. The success and safety of the event is a testament to the partnership between this community's diverse populations and law enforcement. #carrolltonstrong #inittogether

03/29/2020

Our Carrollton, TX - City Government City Council voted to move the May 2 local election to November alongside the presidential election. It came with much reluctance due to the difficulties that arise with running a non-partisan local election with the much more publicized partisan state and federal races. However, it simply isn't possible to keep the May 2 election considering the shelter in place and social distancing that we may still be facing.

Of course, I am running for re-election and, therefore, my race will occur in November, too. I hope you'll remember to cast your vote for me as your mayor in November. Thank you.

Carrollton City Council voted at tonight’s Council meeting to postpone the City General Election originally scheduled for Sat., May 2 until Tue., Nov 3. Gov. Abbott allowed local governments to postpone amid coronavirus concerns. The City contracts municipal elections with Dallas, Denton, and Collin County Elections Administrations. As all three Counties have made the decision to postpone the May 2020 elections, the Carrollton City Council took action to postpone the City’s May 2 Election Day accordingly.

I'm sorry I haven't been active on social media lately - the COVID-19 crisis has been consuming. I want to assure all of our Carrollton, TX - City Government residents that we are doing everything in our power to ensure the highest level of safety for our residents. Although we've closed many city facilities to the public, we are still working for you and our first responders are still working 24 hours a day to keep us safe. My best advice is to STAY AT HOME. Let's beat this thing together!

There’s a lot of information going around related to the Coronavirus that can be hard to keep up with so here’s a couple of handy infographics that we hope will help. As we’ve all discovered, things can change rapidly, so always make sure to check cityofcarrollton.com/coronavirus, as well as the City’s media channels and trusted sources like the CDC, Texas Department of State Health Services, Dallas County Health and Human Services, Denton County Public Health, and Collin County Government for updates. #stayhometexas #stayhomecarrollton

Please bring back the young lady who did the Selena tribute next year!!
Mayor! We need your help! This is on E Peters Colony Rd between Cemetery Hill and Delaford Dr. Lived here for over 20 years and never have seen this happen. Just got done repairing and replacing 1st floor from the April flood and every week it's a close call. We have all been trying to get the city to help us since April 23rd flood and nothing has happened! City needs to investigate the storm drains and figure out what is going on!!!!!
What is happening downtown on Broadway south of Vandergriff? Someone mentioned more apartments are going in. The NW corner is fenced in where the Hyundai place was. And going south down Broadway almost to Crosby?
Why are you linked to this divisive open borders group Mayor? Immigrants are suppose to become Americanized that’s how they succeed here. We can’t cater to every different culture and nationality and in schools the kids just need to be taught to be nice and respectful to everyone. I have zero respect for anyone who doesn’t want criminal illegals deported. It’s insane that’s it’s even an issue!
Mayor, could you please let us know if the City of Carrollton is addressing the dangerous and ongoing problems with I-35 through our city with TXDOT? I know Carrollton has no authority over the freeway, but we certainly have a vested interest in its safety. There doesn't seem to be any excuse for a fairly new road to be falling apart like this. It is dangerous for us all! https://www.facebook.com/147998752240014/posts/706315673074983/
Last night at around 7 PM my wife informed me that we had a break in our sprinkler system, and that water was bubbling up in the back yard. 4 calls to sprinkler repair companies yielded nothing, so I called the emergency number for the City. I reached Bobby (at the pump station). He was cheerful and courteous and dispatched a truck that was at my house within 30 minutes. The truck contained David Lasater and Dan Morrell. They treated me like we had been friends for years. They immediately fixed my problem at the curb, and made some suggestions that might help in the future. They could not have been more polite, cheerful, and helpful! My family has known Mayor Kevin Falconer's theirs for decades. Good people. Please extend my thanks to Bobby, David and Dan!
This Carrollton citizen is not pleased that you plan to gut the Original Town neighborhood and turn it into yet more overvalued cookie-cutter houses. Does your plan include a grocery store, a library, or a locally owned restaurant? Please defend this destruction of a critical part of my city.
Good morning, Mayor! I have a question for you. My parents' street is not draining properly - every time we get lots of rain like this, the water gets so high it goes over the curb, and contributes to flooding in the front of their house. They've taken some steps on their side to reduce the flooding, but their water pump and french drain can't compete with days of weather like we've had; they've ended up with flooding each year, sometimes multiple times in a year. My dad suspects that when the city finished construction on their street several years ago, something ended up in the street drain which blocks the proper flow of water. They've contacted the city (although I don't know by what means or when), but never received a response. What's their next step if they'd like to have someone come out and investigate why the street floods so substantially? Thanks for your suggestion.
Thank you Mayor Falconer for meeting with Brandon so that he could finish his Arrow of Light! I really appreciate you including Brighton in your conversation and letting him participate!
