I recently took an opportunity to visit the Google campus in TRIC and learn more about the closed-loop cooling in use there. The system has been operating about 8 years, and recirculates the same water/ propylene glycol blend the system was initially filled with. Additional water is only added to replace in the unlikely event of a system leak. No flushing for at least 15 years. Fans cool the coils as the water circulates. Much like a car radiator.

Reno Tahoe International Airport is undertaking an expansion to the tune of $1 billion dollars. I had an opportunity today to observe some of the work behind the scenes. Looking forward to seeing the finished product.
