We swore in six new volunteers today in Moore County!! We appreciate all who came to our Meet & Greet Breakfast before the Swearing In Ceremony. Your support is so important to the NC GAL Program! Judge Bibey and Judge Tanner were in attendance as well as GAL Regional Administrator Carolyn Green and District Administrator Tom Landry. Their presence and leadership is greatly appreciated! To our newly sworn in GAL Volunteers, Darilyn Ruotolo, April Metcalf, Ella Cloninger, Brooke Thurston, Naiomy Fields, and Rae Foster- congratulations on becoming a part of something that serves our most vulnerable children in an important way. Your work will change lives! Welcome to the best GAL team in NC!

We had the best time together at our September GAL Social! These people are an absolute joy to be around! The work they are doing in our community is heartfelt, dedicated, and essential. Thankful to serve alongside you all!

We are so thankful for Berkshire Hathaway Realtors in Pinehurst for donating backpacks and school supplies for every school aged foster child in Moore County! We enjoyed sharing with them all the wonderful things about being a GAL! We had fun delivering the backpacks to DSS and hope they will bring light and love to the children as they start their school year! What a wonderful, supportive community we live in! 💙

The Moore County GAL Team had a strong presence in the courtroom today. We've experienced two reunifications in the last two weeks!! Great teamwork DSS, GALs, and attorneys!

Yesterday was our supervisor's one year anniversary with the GAL Program! When we asked her how this first year has gone, she had a few words to share...

"This has been the most incredible year building relationships in our community and constantly learning new things to best serve the children we are appointed to. It has been such a pleasure getting to know the Guardian ad Litem volunteers and it is an honor to be able to support the vital work they do in Moore County. My favorite moments are the ones where we are strongly advocating for a child in court, quietly brainstorming solutions in complex situations with our community partners and DSS Social Workers, and our socials outside of the office and courtroom where we rest and reset together. My volunteers are truly the most wonderful, passionate humans and I'm so thankful to have the opportunity to love and support the mission of this program. I'm looking forward to another meaningful year ahead!"- Celeste Marino
