Yesterday, Celina Fire Department was dispatched to assist Pea Ridge Fire Department with a structure fire in the Pea Ridge community. Celina Fire responded with two engines, one squad, and 7 personnel.

Upon arrival, crews assisted with fire suppression operations. The fire was contained and extinguished, and the residence was ventilated to remove smoke.

We were thankful for the opportunity to work alongside Pea Ridge Fire Department, Clay County Sheriff’s Office, Clay County EMS, Clay County Dispatch, and Tri-County Electric. Strong teamwork makes all the difference in keeping our community safe.

Within the first 24 hours of placing the new Engine into service, Celina responded to an apartment complex fire. With the swift action of the first responding police officers, who used a fire extinguisher to slow the fire, the Celina fire department was able to make entry into the heavily smoke-filled area with SCBA and a charged hose line, successfully containing the fire to the kitchen. The response involved 2 engines and 14 personnel.

🚒 Celina Engine 1 🧯

The Celina Fire Department is proud to announce that, with the support of the City of Celina, we are upgrading several of our older fire engines. Our current primary response engine is a 1995 model—now 31 years old—which has served us well over the years and will continue to be our secondary engine. However, as the frontline engine responding to all local calls as well as mutual aid for several neighboring departments, it became clear that it was time to pursue an upgrade.

After approximately a year of searching, the department located an engine that met every requirement we were looking for. This unit has exceptionally low miles and operating hours and will significantly enhance our response capabilities. The new engine will replace two older units, a 1978 and a 1992, improving reliability, safety, and service to our community. The Plainfield Township Volunteer Fire Company were great to work with during the purchase and delivery. We would like to thank everyone for the support in allowing us this upgrade.
