Had a great time tonight at the Markets on Main event! Thank you Arrianna Beltran with The Cosmic Lemon for reaching out and inviting me, and also for all the work you put into this event! Loved seeing vendors from all over Northwest Arkansas attend. I hope this will continue regularly as many in the community I spoke to loved it! This inspires so many to become entrepreneurs and small business owners!

Here’s a quick recap from last night’s City Council meeting:

• Approved updates to the city’s public notice posting locations.

• Approved the New Town Center Planned Zoning District and updates to the Future Land Use Plan to help guide future growth, development, and connectivity within the downtown corridor area.

• Approved a rezoning request in Magnolia Landing Phase 3 to convert planned duplex lots to single-family residential lots.

• Authorized the city to apply for a matching parks grant that could help fund future recreational amenities, including pickleball courts.

• Approved a culvert replacement project on Jack Perry Drive, with work expected to be completed before the start of the school year.

• Approved the purchase of a new ladder truck for the Centerton Fire Department to support emergency response needs as our city continues to grow.

• Tabled a proposed ordinance regarding community-use structures and use of the community room to allow for additional review, clarification, and discussion.

• Tabled proposed Planning Commission bylaw updates to allow for additional review and discussion regarding commissioner term limits, appointment procedures, training requirements, and opportunities for public involvement.

• Tabled consideration of two Planning Commission appointments whose terms expire at the end of June to allow additional time for residents to apply and be considered for those positions.

As Centerton continues to grow, these conversations continue to play an important role in planning for future development, infrastructure, public safety, and community engagement throughout our city.

This was something we discussed at the council meeting last night. Two residents mentioned concerns about some areas in the community that we are seeing consistent speeding in areas where children are present. Please be mindful of speeds, and your surroundings in neighborhoods. Lets keep everyone safe!

🚔 SLOW DOWN, CENTERTON 🚔

As summer break is in full swing, more children are outside riding bikes, playing with friends, walking to parks, and enjoying their neighborhoods.

The Centerton Police Department has received numerous complaints regarding speeding in residential areas and will be increasing patrols and traffic enforcement throughout the city.

Please remember:

* 🚨 The standard speed limit in residential neighborhoods is 20 MPH unless otherwise posted. 🚨
* Increased patrols and traffic enforcement will be taking place throughout the city.
* Those few extra seconds you save are not worth risking the life of a child, pedestrian, or neighbor.

⚠️ Child Safety Reminder ⚠️

* Children may unexpectedly enter the roadway.
* Stay alert in neighborhoods, near parks, and in areas where families are active.
* Slow down and watch carefully for pedestrians, cyclists, and children at play.

Our goal is not to write tickets—our goal is to keep our community safe.

We ask all drivers to:

* Slow down.
* Stay alert.
* Watch for children and other pedestrians.

Let’s work together to make this a safe and enjoyable summer for everyone.
