I’ve been terrible about posting recently, there’s too much going on. This pigeon was brought in for a “head injury” but actually has a salmonella infection that has gone to the brain. The first day she struggled to stand without flipping over. She can’t control her wings well, no ability to fly as of right now. She is being tube fed kaytee and is on a higher dose of amoxicillin. In larger cages she walks in circles non stop. The more stressed she is, the more the illness shows.

I found a hole in the aviary, along with a lot of other areas starting to fail. I will not be taking any intakes until further notice and all pigeons on hand will go to a foster until a new aviary is put up. I’m sorry, I know it’s hard to find someone to take these wonderful birds. :(

My dear friend at Serenity Sanctuary and Foster is taking in the dog that was brought into my rescue injured. He has been fully vetted and she is going to give him an amazing home! She is terribly low on dog food and materials for building enclosures. Please send her a few dollars if you can spare it.

It’s with the fullest heart, and biggest sigh of relief that I announce he’s been successfully returned to his nest. I initially thought it wouldn’t be possible with how high and how deep in and under the gutter it was. One forklift, a helper, and a long stick got it done! You can’t see them but 3 babies are in that nest, now 4!

It’s with the fullest heart, and biggest sigh of relieve that I get to announce the baby was successfully put back into its tall hard to reach nest. Mom came and fed them as soon as I got down.

You know, it was my fault. I told myself today I will be strong and refuse ALL baby starlings and sparrows this year. I’m so overburdened and without time I can’t keep up with myself. Feeding a baby every 20 min? Can’t do it. That’s why ofcourse I found a baby starling. 🤦‍♀️
