After 22 years of dedicated service to the Hickman County Sheriff’s Office and the Citizens of Hickman County, we celebrate Sergeant Johnnie Davis as he begins a well-deserved retirement.

Johnnie, thank you for the years of sacrifice, dedication, friendship, and commitment you gave to serving the citizens of Hickman County. Your presence will certainly be missed around the Sheriff’s Office.

We wish you nothing but happiness in this next chapter of life.

Thank you for 22 years of service, Johnnie. You’ve earned this!

Tomorrow, August 3, kicks off the 2026–2027 school year, with a half day and then students return August 5 for full days. That means school zones are back in effect and will be enforced. Expect heavier traffic in the mornings and afternoons as everyone gets back into the routine. Please slow down, watch for kids, and give yourself a little extra time to get where you’re going.

🌤️ Touch-A-Truck is TOMORROW! 🚒🚓🚑🚜

We’re looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow at the 2nd Annual Touch-A-Truck & Health Coalition Event at East Hickman High School from 4:00–7:00 p.m. (Vendor setup begins at 3:00 p.m.)

As many of you have been watching, there is still a possibility of rain tomorrow. The good news is that the potential strength of the weather has decreased over the last couple of days, but there is still a chance we’ll see some showers or storms.

Our plan is to move forward as scheduled.

If we do experience rain or a passing storm, we’ll shelter in place until it passes. If conditions become severe enough that adjustments need to be made, we’ll make those decisions based on the safety of everyone attending and participating.

We’ll continue to monitor the weather closely and will keep everyone updated if anything changes.

We’re excited for a great day and hope you’ll come out and join us. Rain or shine, we’re looking forward to seeing all the smiling faces, amazing vehicles, and our wonderful community together!

***UPDATE: Nicholas Ledford has turned himself into custody today. Both subjects are in custody. We would like to thank the community for all the tips and leads they provide us during this time .***

The Hickman County Sheriff’s Office needs your help locating Nicholas Ledford and David Roberts. The Criminal Investigations Division has active attempted homicide warrants for both individuals. They were last seen driving a maroon Dodge pickup truck with front-end damage. The vehicle and both subjects were last seen in the Hidden Valley area today.

If you see either of these men, do not approach them. Please call Hickman County Dispatch immediately at 931-729-5146.
