Bringing Athena to Greece was never a question. From the moment we planned this trip, I knew she was coming with us.

For eleven days, a tiny part of her ashes and her weighted teddy bear traveled everywhere we did. She was with us through every ancient street, every breathtaking view, every adventure, and every sunset.

It felt especially meaningful to bring our Athena to the land where the Greek goddess Athena has been honored for thousands of years. Our Athena was strong, fiery, and fought every odd against her.

On our final evening, we stood along the shore of the Aegean Sea as the sun slipped below the horizon. A local musician was playing nearby. His music wrapped around us as we honored Athena, making the moment feel even more sacred and unforgettable.

We scattered a small handful of flowers and released a tiny portion of her ashes into the sea.

It wasn't a goodbye.
It was an act of love.

A way to honor the daughter who changed us forever. A way to carry her story beyond our own home and into a place that felt timeless, beautiful, and full of strength; just like her.

The sea will continue to dance with the wind, the sunsets will continue to paint the sky, and somewhere in those endless waters, a tiny piece of our beautiful girl now rests.

Always loved.
Always remembered.
Always our Athena, my tiny little dancer. ♡
