🚨 The USDA has declared 28 counties in New Mexico as disaster areas due to recent drought. ��If you are a farmer or rancher in any of these counties, you may qualify for emergency loan assistance from the Farm Service Agency.

Farmers and ranchers in my district can reach out to their local Farm Service Agency office for more information or can call my office at (505) 428-4680 for help with a federal agency.

Fire restrictions to begin April 24!!

Recent storms have kept conditions at bay, but the time has come when extra precautions are needed.

What will be prohibited:

Campfires
Smoking

There are some limited exemptions, including campfires inside a fire structure that is provided by the Forest Service within developed recreation sites.

🚫🔥 Burn Ban in Effect for Rio Arriba County 🔥🚫

The office of the Rio Arriba County Fire Chief has issued a Burn Ban that is now in effect throughout Rio Arriba County until further notice.

This decision is due to extremely high fire danger conditions, including very dry weather and projected high winds.

⚠️ Please help keep our communities safe by not burning under any circumstances during this time.

📞 For any emergencies, please call 911 immediately.
