What is a quote your dad would be famous for saying??

I'll start with a funny one. Back in early 2018 me and my dad were walking my dog, Bailey. I hadn't told anyone I was planning to run for mayor. I told my dad everything so he was the 1st I told. On the corner of Floral Ave and 7th St we stopped and I said "dad.... I want to tell you something....... I am going to run for mayor." He looked at me for 5 solid seconds and simply said "that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard." 🤣

This is our morning 2 days a week. Chloe goes to "school" or doggie daycare at Bark Central. She absolutely loves playing with all the dogs there and comes home tired out. (Win win)

The staff there are amazing and have all kinds of things available from day visits, boarding, baths, walks and belly rubs!

Today, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives defending our freedoms and protecting this great country. Their sacrifice is the reason we enjoy the freedoms and opportunities we have every day.

I love this country, I love this community, and I’m forever grateful for these heroes. Happy Memorial Day, Chambersburg! 🇺🇸

Isaiah Tasker has accomplished a lot in a short time. A few of them being, he is set to attend Shippensburg University in the fall in criminal justice and he finished his internship with me. Now on his road to bigger and better things.

I know many residents have questions about dental care following the vote on fluoride in our water system, and I want to share what I've learned.

Elementary schools in the Chambersburg area offer dental exams by a dental hygienist yearly with parental consent. They also will help parents find qualifying providers that accept their insurance.

I also believe families today have access to many other ways to care for their teeth, including fluoride toothpaste, mouthwash, supplements, regular dental cleanings, and preventive dental treatments through dentists and pediatric providers. I did speak to Keystone Pediatrics and they do not have a waitlist for children ages 3-12. For children 13+ there is a waitlist, however, there are other practices that are available sooner. I know Pine Dentistry in Hagerstown is one.

In addition, many underprivileged families qualify for state insurance programs that cover 100% dental care and preventive services for children.

My vote was not about ignoring dental health. It was about whether adding fluoride to the public water supply remains the best and most effective approach in 2026.

I respect that residents have different opinions on this issue, and I appreciate everyone who has reached out respectfully and thoughtfully.

Last night, after careful consideration and a great deal of discussion, I cast the tie-breaking vote to remove fluoride from our community’s drinking water.
This was not a decision I made lightly. I understand there are strong opinions on both sides, and I respect everyone who took the time to speak, write, and share their perspective throughout this process.
My decision ultimately came down to this: the way families consume beverages today has changed dramatically over the years. Many children are no longer regularly drinking water directly from the spigot as previous generations did. Instead, many primarily consume bottled drinks, soda, sports drinks, juice, and other beverages. Because of that shift, I questioned whether adding fluoride to the public water supply remains the most effective or appropriate method for addressing dental health in today’s environment. Also many expressed personal concerns on why they should be forced to drink a chemical when they don't want to.
I also believe decisions involving fluoride are best made by parents and individuals in consultation with their dentists and healthcare providers. Fluoride products remain widely available through toothpaste, mouth rinses, professional dental treatments, and supplements.
My responsibility as Mayor is to make the decision I believe is best for our community based on the information presented, and tonight I feel I fulfilled that responsibility.
