When: Saturday May 9th
Time: 12:00 PM
Where: Dragon's Lounge
1907 W. Main St. Mesa Az. 85201
(S/E corner of Main and Dobson near Discount Tire)

Greetings fellow pipe club members!
It looks like the Southwestern thermostat is pe***ng upwards for our May meeting, so please come and join us for a comfortable air-conditioned smoke! In regards to those that have not come in quite a while, it would be good to see you and touch bases on how things are going!

Last month for a trial run at the former haunt worked out well, and the staff was welcoming and appreciated our visit. Going forward, we will stick with this venue. Please reach out and let me know of any concerns, but I think that not having stairs, and more comfortable chairs that accommodate the whole group is a plus, and might allow some that have not come in recent times. Parking there is always a hassle, but there is not much to be done about that, the Asian market produces a lot of shoppers and it just is, what it is.

If anyone has any special requests on a particular blend that they would like to try, be sure and let us know, we will try to accomodate.

The Las Vegas Pipe show is five months away, and will be here before you know it.

New attendees over the age of 21 are always welcomed, no dues and we promise not to haze anyone! ;)

We hope that you have a great day and look forward to seeing you there!

Regards,
Arizona Pipe Club

Celebrating our 10th year on Facebook. Thank you for your continuing support. We could never have made it without you. 🙏🤗🎉

We actually predate FB by 3 years or so… for the longest time it was 4 of us, but in the world we live in social media helped get the word out.

For a few years we were able to promote our get togethers, but for whatever reason FB decided that they will put up with us, but offer no promotions… those that found us, thank you for following and checking in, we appreciate you!

Greetings Fellow Pipe Smokers!

It looks like we are returning to our old haunt at least for a trial run, we saw it transition from Big Sticks, to Maduro's and now Dragon's Lounge.
https://maps.app.goo.gl/hK6V7pGtHBwd2NR78

I stopped by today, and talked to Perry Singh the owner for the second time since he took over...still no Grand Opening he is on a "soft opening", but my business was welcomed.
He is looking forward to hosting us, I told him that any meeting can be anywhere from 6 to 16 members asked him where we would be prone to seat us, up front or in the back.

"We will see how it goes on the first few meetings, if 12 people show up we will give you guys the back room" I told him that I understood as things get underway, the back rooms need to go to the people willing to pay for the private rooms.

He is a really cool cat, asked if he could use our logo to promote the meeting, and reiterated that if it makes sense he will talk to us about what to***cos and pipes he should carry going forward.

All that being said, it is all about the revenue to anyone venturing into running a cigar lounge. Many pipe clubs across the nation camped out in a cigar lounge, unpacked all of their bags and smoked in air conditioned/ heated comfort at the expense of the proprietor...Kinda like taking your bacon and eggs into a cafe an asking them to fry your breakfast. This has never, ever been a problem with the Arizona Pipe Club, and it is because of you all...Periodically, we get new members joining the fold and I just want to share the point that the proprietor needs to pay the rent, utilities, and payroll... serious skin in the game.

As is the case, that parking lot faces challenges, it is extremely busy with the H/M mart? (Asian grocer). But a necessary evil. ;)

I have a work assignment in Denver on the April 11th meeting... wish I could use the corporate jet to make it down for it...lacking the pay grade.

Have a good time, behave yourselves, and feel free to chime in on this email "reply all" to share your thoughts good or bad about Dragon's Lounge.

Warmest Regards, Charlie

Greetings Fellow Pipe Club Members, new attendees are welcome!
Meeting: Saturday February 14th
12:00-?
Puros Cigar Lounge, Chandler

Sorry about not getting the update out sooner...I will spare the details, but I have a lot of Irons in the fire/ got back home today, and it feels good to be home!

I have always been proud of the fact that by meeting the 2nd Saturday of the month it never conflicts with holidays.
This meeting is taking place on Valentine's day, so it is certainly understanding that some may need to ensure domestic tranquility by having other plans. ;)

I have not made it back to the former Big Sticks/ Maduros lounge to see how that place is coming along, I am going to try and swing by tomorrow or sometime this weekend to have a cigar and talk to the owner.

If you are thinking about going to the Las Vegas International Pipe Show this year, it should be a great time to be had. Always a great show, and it just keeps progressively getting better each year. It is never too early to pull the trigger by planning ahead and there are plenty of benefits in doing so.

We look forward to seeing whoever can make it to this month's meeting, and look forward to seeing those that cannot make it hopefully next month.

Not sure what this is about…. Carry on Facebook, at some time I expect smokers of to***co will be banished. Alternative smokers of other substances not so much.

From Per Georg Jensen:

What will 2026 bring? Well, looking back at the last few years, I must say that I had a few eye-openers. First of all, I got fired from Mac Baren because they changed their focus from pipe to***co to chewing bags. That, of course, meant that there was no room in the organization for a pipe to***co specialist. The next thing that happened was that the Halberg family sold Mac Baren to STG. That rattles the inner me. How could my former employer sell to their biggest competitor? Well, done is done. STG is now the largest company on the planet in pipe to***co. And what is to be expected for the future? If you listen to their official commitments, they will concentrate on handmade ci**rs, factory-made ci**rs, and ni****ne pouches.

But sometimes it is the untold sentence that informs you more than the spoken word. Not one word about pipe to***co, even though they are by far the biggest producer in the world. Only time will tell if they are bringing new innovations to pipe to***co.

Some buy, some sell, but others remain loyal to pipe to***co. As a pipe to***co lover, I would like to explain what I have planned for 2026 together with Cornell & Diehl.

Before explaining what to expect, I would like to thank all the pipe smokers who have supported my launch of the Legacy Collection. It was tough times, Mac Baren sold, and in that deal, Sutliff closed as well. Sutliff, with whom I had been blending to***co, and lastly introduced the Viking series in Switzerland and Hong Kong. Switzerland is sold out, and Hong Kong only has a few tins left.

So, now for the good news. In 2026, I plan to expand the Legacy Collection with a special limited-edition release and two regular production blends. I will continue to tell my father's story going forward, and just to calm you down, there are many chapters. When they will be released is still an open question, but it will happen in 2026.

I would like to wish all reading this a happy and peaceful 2026. And to the pipe smokers who have supported me by smoking the first four blends, a big thank you, and may your pipe always be warm. And a big thank you for all the warm wishes on my birthday.

Looks like a yummy treat!

The tin art on our latest Small Batch, Fires on the Levee, captures the spirit of this folk tradition with handpainted details of the bonfires lighting the way for Papa Noël on Christmas eve. This smokeable tribute arrives soon, and we can't wait to share a smoke with you this season when Fires on the Levee arrives December 16 at 6:00 p.m. ET.

Greetings Az Pipe Club Members!
We hope that you all are enjoying the fantastic weather, I converse with many people online in the pipe community, and we are so blessed with the wintertime weather here.
Many brothers of the briar across the nation for whatever reason cannot enjoy the pipe in their home and they shiver out in the garage, to get a smoke in.

And so many of them live in places where virtually any pipe smoking is prohibited in any place, including cigar stores...meaning that there are no cigar lounges.
We certainly do not have that problem, year round pipe smoking is complemented by us being able to escape the summer heat at puros cigar lounge in the summer, but also a fantastic retreat if perchance we have a chilly day here.

The upcoming weekend is forecast to be beautiful, so smoking on the veranda or inside the lounge we are looking forward to a great day of friendly banter and great smokes.
Great food can be delivered to the lounge as Back Alley BBQ is downstairs if you want a little smoke in a meal. ;)

And if your wife or lady friend needs to do some Christmas shopping, there are many stores and boutique shops that might check a few boxes for her.
We Hope that you can make it, and as always the case, first time visitors are always welcome, there are no dues/ costs/ requirements to attend, just a lively group that enjoys great conversations and tons of to***cos to share!
