To celebrate Earth Day 🌎, we want to highlight the work of our student leaders to take on fast fashion!
This semester, hundreds of our students across the country took action to make waste out of fashion by educating their communities about sustainable alternatives (like thrifting and repairing you clothes) and calling on business leaders to make be a sustainable leader in the fashion industry.
With our partners at , our campaign:
* Collected more than 20,000 petition signatures calling on H&M to help lead the fashion industry to a more sustainable future by publicly committing to not trash or burn new, unsold clothing within the United States.
* Organized clothing swaps, documentary screenings educational tables, crocheting events, and sustainable fashion shows with 1,000+ people in attendance
* More than 50 campus VIPs, local businesses, influencers, and more signed on to support our campaign
* Organized social media influencers and organized 200 educational posts on social media
* Got media attention from campus newspapers and local Philadelphia ABC and NBC Affiliates
We are proud of all the work our volunteers, organizers, and student leaders put in to mobilize our campuses this semester, but we are not done yet!
