🤠 What a night for Dallas! 🤠
The Mayor’s Hatfield’s & McCoy’s Fundraiser Dinner was so much fun, and more importantly, it was a tremendous success! Together, we raised $8,974 for our All-Inclusive Playground—and an incredibly generous anonymous family matched those funds, bringing the total to $17,948!
And the good news keeps coming! Senator Brad Overcash awarded the Town of Dallas $100,000 from the State to help make this dream a reality. Thank You!
This dream started with a 9 year old girl and a big heart.
During Carr Elementary School’s Mayor for the Day program, students are asked to respond to the prompt, “If I were Mayor for the Day…” Kyleigh used her opportunity to share her passion for children and adults with disabilities and her dream of bringing an all-inclusive playground to Dallas.
While our current playgrounds are ADA compliant, there are still very few opportunities for children with disabilities to truly enjoy and participate in playing alongside their friends. Kyleigh saw that need; and she spoke up.
For the past two years, I have worked to help make her vision come to life.
And today, thanks to the passion of a 9 year old, the generosity of our community, and the support of our state leaders, we are on the path to making that dream come true!
Kyleigh, thank you for your passionate heart, incredible work ethic, and patience as we have worked toward this goal. It is my honor to announce that this playground will be named in her honor.
