Twenty-five years ago, America was attacked.
On September 11, 2001, our nation watched as innocent lives were taken, families were shattered, and the world we knew changed forever.
For those of us who wore the uniform, September 11 was more than a date on a calendar. It was a call to duty.
In the days, months, and years that followed, Americans raised their hands and volunteered to defend this country. Service members deployed into harm's way. Families waited at home. Some came back changed. Some never came home.
Twenty-five years later, we remember them all.
We remember the 2,977 innocent souls who were taken from us. We remember the first responders who ran toward danger when everyone else was running away. We remember the service members who answered the call and the families who carried the weight of their sacrifice.
And we remember why we served.
America is not perfect. But she is worth defending.
On this 25th anniversary, we stand together as Americans. We honor the fallen. We respect the sacrifice. And we will never forget.
September 11, 2001.
Twenty-five years later.
Never forget.
The Military Veterans Foundation salutes every American who answered the call to serve in the aftermath of 9/11 and every family who sacrificed alongside them.
