Hello Neighbors! Here is the June crime report. Please remember to lock your vehicles, keep valuables out of sight, and keep dogs leashed while out in the neighborhood. Have a great summer!

🚨 CMPD TO PARENTS 🚨

CMPD is sending a strong message this summer: know where your children are and make sure they're home before curfew.

Parents and guardians who knowingly allow minors to violate Charlotte's curfew ordinance could face serious legal consequences, including mandatory court appearances, fines, and even court-ordered parenting classes. Juveniles caught violating curfew may also face action through the juvenile justice system.

The ordinance also extends to businesses. Property owners and operators who knowingly allow underage teens to remain on their property during curfew hours could face misdemeanor charges as well.

As summer activities ramp up across Charlotte, law enforcement is encouraging families to stay informed, stay involved, and help keep neighborhoods safe. Knowing who your kids are with, where they are, and when they should be home can help avoid legal trouble and keep everyone safe.

The ordinance is for juveniles under the age of 16.

⚠️Curfew Hours:
Ages 12 and Under: 10pm - 6am
Ages 13 - 15: 11pm - 6am

Dear Eastover Neighbors,
At its May 2026 meeting, the Eastover Residents Association Board of Directors approved a neighborhood-wide 'No Soliciting' policy to help discourage unwanted door-to-door sales visits. While door-to-door solicitation is permitted within Charlotte city limits, the ERA is taking a coordinated approach to make Eastover less inviting to solicitors.

*What the ERA is doing*
In the coming weeks, the ERA will install “No Soliciting" signs at key neighborhood entry points. These signs are intended to clearly communicate the neighborhood’s preference before solicitors reach individual streets and homes.

*What residents can do*
Residents who wish to further discourage solicitation at their homes may consider the following:

1. Post a visible “No Soliciting” sign near your front door or doorbell. A clearly visible door sign gives solicitors clear notice that visits are not welcomed and provides residents something to reference if someone knocks. A variety of options are available online, including small stickers designed for use near Ring-style doorbells.

2. Use a video doorbell or camera. A Ring or similar video doorbell allows you to see who is at your door without answering. If you do not recognize the visitor, you can simply choose not to respond. In many cases, solicitors move on quickly when no one engages.

3. Reference the neighborhood policy. Residents may also tell solicitors that Eastover has adopted a neighborhood 'No Soliciting' policy and that door-to-door sales visits are not welcome.

Together, these steps help set a consistent neighborhood expectation while giving residents simple tools to manage unwanted visits should they occur. As always, please call 911 for emergencies and 311 for non-emergency concerns. Thank you for helping keep Eastover a comfortable and respectful neighborhood.
