Frequently Asked Questions:
COMMENT POLICY: In short, be respectful to other commenters, and don't swear. Longer version: We're experimenting with this as a lightly-moderated forum where people with a wide range of views can discuss politics in a reasonable way. Comments on posts are welcome so long as they are civil and generally pertain to the issues raised in the post. Please be respectful of

other commenters (and admins) and don't say things that you wouldn't say to someone in person. Most commenters here are local and could easily be your neighbor or a friend of a friend. Name-calling of other commenters or private citizens is counterproductive and may result in deletion of the post and a possible ban on further posting. Threats to specific individuals or groups, or calls for violence, may also be referred to law enforcement. We have never endorsed, and categorically denounce, any form of political violence. Posts with profanity are automatically hidden by Facebook and are usually deleted. Facebook Community Standards also apply https://www.facebook.com/communitys...
If you want to be most persuasive: be thoughtful, refer to data and provide links to credible sources when possible, stick to the issues, think about framing in terms of the other person's values, and think twice if your post includes the word "you" in reference to another commenter. "Like" comments you like, and just ignore unhelpful comments (or try to ask questions and get an actual conversation going). Thank you.

-- Comments and posts by this FB page do not necessarily represent the official policy positions of the Albemarle County Democratic Party. There are multiple admins, who may engage in discussions as time and interest allow. If you have specific questions about events, getting involved, or would like to give feedback, please message us. Feel free to post links of interest; they will appear on the side column and may be shared to the main page.

-------------------------------------
ENDORSEMENT POLICY: In accordance with state party guidelines, we do not endorse any federal, state, or local candidate until there is a presumptive nominee. We do welcome news and announcements from primary campaigns for posting here. We may post articles containing information about both or all candidates and will strive for balance. Once there is a nominee, we look forward to working hard to elect another Democrat to that office.

-----------------------------------------------
The Road Forward PAC’s Candidate Development Academy was developed in 2014 as a free program to train Democrats in the greater Charlottesville-Albemarle region and throughout Virginia’s 5th District to serve capably in office and to be effective in political campaigns, advocacy groups, and related non-profits. There are two tracks to the academy: the Campaign Training Track and the Understanding Government Track. This is an excellent way to get involved in local leadership.
