Young Americans for Freedom (YAF) is committed to ensuring that increasing numbers of young Americans understand and are inspired by the ideas of individual freedom, a strong national defense, free enterprise, and traditional values. Young Americans for Freedom, a project of Young America's Foundation, helps to start college chapters around the country which provide an array of venues through whic

h students can learn about America's founding principles. In addition, we host an array of social events for our members. For more information, please visithttp://www.yaf.org/yaf_history.aspx. Although this organization has members who are University of Virginia students and may have University employees associated or engaged in its activities and affairs, the organization is not a part of or an agency of the University. It is a separate and independent organization, which is responsible for and manages its own activities and affairs. The University does not direct, supervise or control the organization and is not responsible for the organization’s contracts, acts or omissions.

Today we honor all of our veterans, military personnel, and their families that dedicate their lives to protecting our country and its citizens. Thank you for your service.

Today, the University of Virginia and Charlottesville community came together to commemorate the 21st Anniversary of the Terrorist Attacks of September 11, 2001. By placing 2,977 American Flags in the UVA amphitheater, we recognize every life lost during the 9/11 attacks. We also recognize those who are still suffering from the effects of 9/11 today.

Thank you to all of our volunteers for your hard work and support as we could not have not done it without you!
