On Memorial Day, we remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in defense of our nation and our freedoms.

Their sacrifice reminds us of the profound responsibility carried by all who serve.

The Charlottesville Police Foundation stands with our community in honoring the fallen, supporting their families, and reflecting on the values of duty, courage, and service that guide our work throughout the year.

We remember and we give thanks.

The Charlottesville Police Foundation honors the courage and sacrifice of our fallen officers.

National Police Week

On May 13 at 10 AM, the Charlottesville Police Department will hold its Police Memorial Ceremony in front of City Hall.

This solemn gathering honors the courage, dedication, and sacrifice of law enforcement officers who have given their lives in the line of duty. It is a moment for our community to pause, reflect, and stand together in gratitude.

As we observe National Police Week, we remember the fallen, support their families, and recognize the officers who continue to serve with integrity and compassion every day. Their commitment to protecting our community—often in the most difficult circumstances—deserves our deepest respect.

The Charlottesville Police Foundation is honored to stand alongside CPD during this week of remembrance.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month — and a reminder that behind every badge is a human being.

Mental Health Awareness Month is an important reminder of the psychological demands officers face and why wellness matters for the entire community. CPF is committed to supporting CPD through programs that build resilience, reduce stress, and strengthen officer wellbeing.

As we launch our Mid‑Year Appeal, we invite you to join us in this work. Your contribution directly supports the health and readiness of the officers who protect Charlottesville every day.

Support officer wellness this month:

Your gift goes right to work in our community, helping our police get the tools and training they need to do their best work.

We honor the unseen heroes behind every emergency call

As National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week is celebrated April 12–18, the Charlottesville Police Foundation proudly recognizes the dedicated professionals who serve as the lifeline between our community and emergency services.

Their calm voices, quick thinking, and steady presence support both the public and our officers during some of the most challenging moments. These telecommunicators, dispatchers, and call‑takers are essential to keeping Charlottesville safe, and their work often goes unseen but never unfelt.

We are grateful for their professionalism, compassion, and unwavering commitment to service.

Please join us in thanking our Emergency Communications Center Team for the extraordinary work they do every day!

Congratulations to the graduates of CPD’s second Hispanic Community Academy. The Charlottesville Police Foundation was proud to sponsor this academy and support the meaningful connections it creates between officers and our Hispanic community.

We’re grateful to the CPD team whose vision and hard work made this academy possible. Their commitment to listening, learning, and building trust reflects the kind of community‑centered policing we are proud to invest in.

This academy is a reminder that trust grows through shared experiences, honest dialogue, and showing up for one another.

Gratitude in every cup

Today we joined for the presentation of this year’s Blue Cup Campaign check — a tradition that honors the Charlottesville Police Department and the officers who serve our community every day.

We’re grateful for Mission BBQ’s continued partnership and for everyone who chose a Blue Cup to show their support.

Community generosity fuels the programs that keep our officers well, prepared, and connected to the people they serve. Learn more about how CPF supports CPD:
