Tonight, I co-sponsored Resolution 2026-311 in support of the New York Health Act.

The resolution PASSED and calls on New York State legislators to fully consider legislation (S3425/A1466) that can help assure affordable and effective healthcare for residents of Cheektowaga and across New York State.

Healthcare impacts every family and every community. I’m proud to support continued conversations around access, affordability, prevention, and healthier futures for all.

Today, the Town of Cheektowaga proudly honored PFC Neil Bateman of B Co., 1st Battalion, 327th Infantry in recognition of his service and sacrifice. 🇺🇸

This meaningful tribute is a product of hard work, unity, and collaboration from the entire Town Council as we continue to honor the brave men and women who courageously served our nation and protected the freedoms we hold dear.

May we never forget their legacy.

For me, mental health is not the latest buzzword or political trend. It is a real issue impacting real people, real families, and real communities every single day.

As leaders, our responsibility is not just to talk about mental health, but to create environments where people feel supported, heard, safe, and connected.

Compassion is not weakness. It is leadership.

Today, we remember the lives stolen, the families forever changed, and a community that continues to heal together.

May we never forget the pain caused by hate, and may we continue choosing love, unity, compassion, and humanity.

Buffalo strong. Always. 🕊️

Honored to join the groundbreaking of the Garden of the Evangelists at Mount Calvary Cemetery.

The St. Matthew Cremation Niche will provide a beautiful, dignified space for families to honor and remember their loved ones.

Congratulations to Doug Wasiura and his team, and thank you to my partners in government who continue to support projects that promote healing for families. 💙

On Wednesday, I had the opportunity to give back by delivering hot and cold meals to seniors in Cheektowaga.

Watching food insecurity affect our seniors, especially those who are homebound was eye-opening, reflecting on my experiences during the pandemic and my work developing senior programs.

Access to nutritious food and meaningful connections are vital.

Thank you to FeedMore WNY and Meals on Wheels for their commitment, and to the Town of Cheektowaga for supporting these essential services to keep them accessible and funded.

It was an honor to attend the 31st Annual CPD Awards Ceremony. Congratulations to Chief C***s and the courageous women and men of the Cheektowaga Police Department who serve on the front lines to protect the citizens. Also receiving awards were Buffalo Captain Kenneth Agee and US Customs Agent Frank Torres.

When your steps are ordered, the work you do quietly in service will eventually speak for you.

I’m honored to be appointed as a Founding Officer of the New York Association of Towns - NYAOT Women’s Leadership Caucus; a historic first for the Association.

As part of the inaugural leadership team, I look forward to helping strengthen and expand pathways for women in municipal leadership through professional development, mentorship, and the promotion of ethical, effective governance across New York State’s 933 towns.

While this recognition is meaningful, my heart has always been rooted in service. I never set out seeking titles; only opportunities to make a difference.

And for that, I am deeply grateful.

Women’s History Month began with a vibration I could feel in my soul.

Yesterday, I attended the Cheektowaga Community Symphony Orchestra’s Indigenous Voices: Celebrating Black History performance, where history was told not through words; but through music.

Hearing “The Oak” by Florence Beatrice Price, the first African American woman whose music was performed by a major symphony orchestra, was a powerful reminder that even when doors were closed, greatness still found a way to be heard.

The sound of the marimba, with roots in Africa and ancient tradition, filled the room with a rhythm that felt bigger than the moment.

Women’s History Month is about voices that refused to be silenced.

Tonight, I heard one of them.

Literacy is the foundation of opportunity. As Chair of the Town of Cheektowaga Library Committee, I was honored to join Zeneta and Zaire’s Book Club today as a guest reader at Villa Maria College during their Black History Reading Event with the Buffalo Bills.

Two schools, Cheektowaga and BPS, gathered in the reading nook, reminding young people that their future begins with the pages they turn.
