This past Tuesday, members of the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office had the opportunity to provide a special ride to St. Joseph’s School for three children!

This experience was made possible through an auction award received from the Economic Alliance of Lewis County. We had a great time interacting with these kids and helping create a memorable and exciting start to their school day with a cool ride to school.

Thank you to the Economic Alliance of Lewis County and the families for allowing us to be part of such a fun experience!

Last Friday, we had the opportunity to participate in Onalaska High School’s Career Day!

It was a great experience connecting with students, sharing information about careers in law enforcement, and giving them a hands-on look at some of the equipment we use every day. We appreciate the opportunity to engage with the next generation and answer questions about what we do to serve our community.

Thank you to Onalaska High School for inviting us to be part of such a special event!

This week, we proudly recognize Corrections Officer Week and honor the dedicated men and women serving in the Lewis County Jail.

Our Corrections Deputies play a vital role in public safety—maintaining secure facilities, ensuring the well-being of those in custody, and supporting the justice system with professionalism and integrity. Their work often happens behind the scenes, but its impact is felt throughout our entire community.

Day in and day out, they demonstrate resilience, vigilance, and compassion in a challenging environment. We are grateful for their commitment to service and the sacrifices they and their families make.

Please join us in thanking our Corrections Deputies for their hard work and dedication this week and every week.

Warm weather is here, and more people are out walking, biking, and driving. Please slow down and obey posted speed limits – especially in residential areas, near schools and parks, and in construction zones.

Speeding puts everyone at risk. Slow down, obey the speed limit, and stay alert. Drive safe so everyone gets home.

A generous community member has decided to match the reward being offered for information leading to arrest and return of our equipment. Or, in the event no arrest or return of our equipment they will donate $1000 to aid in the replacement of the equipment.

Earlier today, deputies with the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office responded to Riffe Lake near Mossyrock after a vessel capsized, leaving two adults and a child stranded in the water.

With the help of two citizens at a nearby boat launch, deputies quickly reached the group, who were holding onto their overturned boat in extremely cold water. All three were wearing life jackets and were safely rescued, then transported to a local hospital for possible hypothermia.

We commend the citizens who assisted us, your actions made a critical difference!

This is an important reminder: always wear your PFD and be aware that local waters remain dangerously cold this time of year. Proper precautions save lives!
