Good Morning! It's Preschool Thursday and time to start The Days of Creation!

Lesson:
Bible Verses: “Then God said, ‘Let there be light!’ And there was light. God saw that the light was good. So he divided the light from the darkness. God named the light ‘day’ and the darkness “night.” Evening passed, and morning came. This was the first day.” Genesis 1:3-5 (ICB)

So, God simply spoke and light appeared. And this was not just sunlight. After all, the sun had not even been created yet. Can you make light just by saying, “Let there be light”? No, but God can.

It’s time for Mission Friends!
We will learn more about our missionaries, the Bible, and telling others about Jesus!

Flower Craft:

After (or during) the video, kids can color the petals. A grown up can write one of the Bible thoughts in the center. Read the Bible thought aloud, then ask preschoolers to repeat it with you.

Bible Thoughts:
Jesus had friends (see Luke 2:52).
Pray for one another (see James 5:16).
The Bible tells us about Jesus (see 2 Tim. 3:15).
A friend loves at all times (see Prov. 17:17).

Mission:
You can help provide God’s Word to Bible-less peoples in the languages that touch their minds and hearts. Over 200 people groups that missionaries work with have no Bible in their language. Bible story/oral teaching has been the most effective way of reaching these people. Click on the link below to learn more and to give, if you feel led to do so.

Hey Parents!
I will start the Days of Creation on Thursday, April 30th, for you to help guide your children through. This will be a fun and simple way for them to learn and remember the days of creation and how God created everything!

I will post a creation day each Thursday, so it will not be overwhelming and it can be done at a slow pace. Be on the lookout for a new creation day each Thursday in your email and also here, on the Liberty Baptist Preschool Ministry page. There will be a fun video that goes along with each creation day and a coloring sheet for the kids to color and to use as a visual to help them learn the days.

I'm excited about the Days of Creation and I hope that you enjoy sharing them and God's Word with your children!

Hey Preschool Parents!
Come grab your preschooler’s Sunday Bible lessons!

Just drive under the church portico and grab what you need off of the cart. Lessons 8 through 11 are available, along with coloring sheets for each lesson.

Don’t you like my fancy, pen paper weight? Hopefully it does it’s job through all of this wind. Just please be sure to put it back or the wind may decide that it needs to share God’s Word with others. 😊

The Prodigal Son

The Parable of the Prodigal Son (Luke 15:11-32)

Hide and Seek Game:
Encourage your children to play hide and seek in a large indoor or outdoor area. When a person is found, the seeker gives the child found a hug (or high five) and then those 2 continue looking for the rest.

Lesson:
In this parable the father in the story is just like God. This is how God would be if we ran away from him and we started doing things we shouldn't. He doesn't give up on us when we do things that are wrong, and He will always forgive us, if we've truly changed and asked for forgiveness for what we've done.

Now the older brother in this story shows how most of us would act if this happened to us. I think we would all be upset if our younger brother or sister ran away for a long time and did a whole bunch of bad things and then came home and your parents threw a big party for him or her.

The father who had been wronged, was forgiving. But the oldest son, who had not been wronged, was unforgiving. In this parable Jesus gives a clear picture of God and what God is like. God is truly kinder than us. God’s love has no limits and we are always welcome to come back to HIM. God wants to save everyone and we should never be afraid to ask for forgiveness. God always welcomes us home!

Prayer: Dear God, thank you that you love us! Thank you that you always welcome us home! Amen.

This Bible story is based on Luke 15:11–32.

The Parable of the Unforgiving Servant

The Parable of the Unforgiving Servant (Matthew 18:21-35)

This parable is about forgiveness. God wants us to keep on forgiving and to have mercy on others, that is what the servant in the parable should have done. God forgives us all the time for small things and big things, so why wouldn't we forgive others just the same. It is not always easy, but it is what God wants us to do!

Peter asks Jesus how many times he is supposed to forgive someone who sins against him, who does something wrong to him. Peter guesses that seven times should be enough. It seems like a strange number to pick out, doesn’t it? It also seems like a lot of times to forgive someone when they keep sinning against you.

Most people in Jesus’ time thought that if you forgave someone three times and they still wronged you, that you would not have to forgive them. So, with that in mind, Peter’s guess that forgiving someone seven times seems awfully kind. But Jesus has a different idea of what forgiveness looks like. Jesus says we must forgive them seventy times seven times. Seventy times seven is 490! Now that is a lot of times to forgive someone.

Jesus gives this really big number for two reasons. One is to tell us that we should forgive endlessly. We can’t keep record of wrongs; we can’t tally up the number of times we must forgive. We cannot keep track of the number of times we forgive. We must keep forgiving and forgiving and forgiving, no matter what, even if it means forgiving more than 490 times! The other reason he gives us such a big number is to tell us that we cannot forgive endlessly on our own. We need Jesus to help us forgive. So, Jesus tells this parable to let us know that we must forgive endlessly.

Prayer: Dear Lord, help us to be kind and to forgive others when they sin against us. Thank you for your love and forgiveness. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.

This animated Bible story for kids is based on Matthew 18:21-35.

A game to go along with the Parable of the Unforgiving Servant.

How Many Times? Game:
Ask the children how many times they can do various tasks. “How many pushups can you do? How many times can you bounce a ball? How many basketball shots can you make in a row?” Have the children attempt these tasks. Ask if anyone can complete these tasks 490 times in a row without messing up. Let them try. The point of the game is to show that it is nearly impossible to do something 490 times. This idea ties in with today’s lesson. The exact activities you do, do not matter, as long as it gets the wiggles out of the kids and shows them how hard it is to do something 490 times.

The Parable of the Two Builders

The Wise & Foolish Builders
(Matthew 7:24-29)

The first story that Jesus tells us is about a man who builds his house upon a rock. Think about what a rock is and what it feels like. It is very strong and sturdy. Jesus is like a rock. The wise man in the story was like someone who listened to Jesus’ instructions and then followed the instructions. Jesus’ instructions are always right. When a person builds their life on Jesus’ words, they are building a strong foundation. They will be strong inside.

The second part of this story is about a man who built his house on the sand. What is sand like? It is squishy and it moves when you walk on it. The world is like sand. When we build our lives on whatever we want, but not Jesus, it is like standing on the sand. The foolish man in the parable was like someone who listened to Jesus’ instructions, but then did not follow them. A person that does not build their life on Jesus’ words will not have a strong foundation. They will be weak inside.

We need to build our lives on Jesus and nothing else. We can build our lives on Jesus by believing in Him. If we believe in Jesus, then we will want to know more about Him. We can learn more about Him by reading the Bible and going to church.
Let’s hear the words of Jesus and follow His instructions!

Prayer:
Dear Lord, thank you for sending your son, Jesus, to earth to die for our sins and to teach us. Help us to trust you and build our lives on the rock. Please bless us with wisdom this week and help us to listen to your words and follow them. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

Based on Matthew 7: 24-29 and Luke 6: 46-49.

The Lost Sheep

The Parable of the Lost Sheep (Luke 15:1-7)

Jesus used this story to explain that God cares for us all and that He will not let us wander and stray away. There are millions of people all over the world, more than we can even understand. Yet God cares about YOU as an individual and He knows how many hairs are on your head. He made you! Because He made you, He thinks you are important and special and valuable, and He loves you.

The Bible teaches us that we are like sheep and sometimes we stray away from God, sometimes we might do things that go against God’s laws, make mistakes, or even turn our backs to God and His love. That makes God very sad, but He never gives up on us. He keeps searching for us and calling to us. He’s always waiting with open arms to welcome us back into His family, if we should walk away. He even sent Jesus, His Son, to save those who are lost. Aren't you glad that God doesn't give up on His lost sheep? I am, because "I once was lost, but now I'm found!" The sheep needed to be rescued to follow the shepherd and we need to be rescued to follow God.

Prayer:
Dear Jesus, you are the Good Shepherd. We are thankful that you came to save those who are lost. Amen.

This story is based on Luke 15:1-7 and Matthew 18:12-14.

The Good Samaritan (Luke 10:25-37)

The Good Samaritan (Luke 10:25-37)

Jesus uses this story to explain the love that we should have for one another. Our neighbor is not just someone in our community. Our neighbor is anyone in need of love and mercy. Instead of asking who deserves our love as a neighbor, this parable teaches us to love beyond our community or religion and treat everyone as we would like to be treated.

Sometimes it can be difficult to be kind to someone we do not know or is different from us. It is easy most of the time to be nice to our friends, but in this story, a man takes care of a stranger in need. Jesus told this story to show us all that we are to love and care for people in need. Jesus said, “Go and help others.”

Prayer:
Thank you, God for loving us. Please help us to show love and kindness to others and to help those in need. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

This story is an animated example of what the parable of the Good Samaritan might have looked like. Jesus tells this story in Luke 10:25-37. This Bible story...

Bible Stories for Toddlers (The Parable of the Farmer and the Seeds)

The Parable of the Sower (Luke 8:4-15)

The seed that the farmer was planting in the story represents God's Word in the Bible. Our heart represents the soil where the farmer planted the seeds.

The last seed is the best, it fell on the good soil and made healthy plants and produced good fruit, that’s like people who hear about God and believe in Him and never let anything come between them and God. If you learn from what you hear in Sunday School and church, the seed that Jesus plants in your heart will grow.

Your life will produce good fruit, just like Jesus intended. You will be helping others to grow and learn about God's love. This is the lesson that Jesus wanted his disciples to learn, and it is also the lesson that he wants us to learn today. Jesus loves us and wants us to remember what He teaches us.

Prayer:
Our Father, help us to be like the good soil in our lesson today. Help us to listen to your Word and grow up to be the kind of boys and girls you want us to be. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.

This short animated video was made with toddlers in mind. It is short, yet Biblically accurate. The goal is to introduce toddlers to these Bible stories.
