WHAT PROBLEM ARE WE SOLVING? King’s Home serves youth, women, mothers and children seeking refuge, hope and help from abuse, neglect, abandonment, homelessness and other extreme and difficult conditions and circumstances. WHY DO WE CARE? Because God first loved us. We are compelled to share the hope he has given us. Our team is made up of over 150 Christ followers. We understand the power of grace and mercy. Our greatest joy comes from empowering abused youth, women, and moms with children with hope for the future. WHAT WE DO. We offer refuge, hope, and help. We provide housing, nourishment, counseling, spiritual development, educational support, social skills, financial literacy, transportation, employment, independent living skills, and more for abused youth, women, and moms with children. WHERE ARE WE? King's Home owns six campuses in four Alabama counties. We currently provide twelve residential group homes serving youth between ages 10 and 21 years old. In addition to ten homes serving adult women and moms with children. Learn more about us at www.kingshome.com
In a world that seems to be built upon shifting sands, We build our world on solid ground. We build our home on solid rock. This is the King’s Home. Christ is our foundation. And it is upon that foundation that We build our home. King’s Home. It is indeed our Father’s home. And it indeed has many rooms. Rooms for the neglected. Rooms for the abused. Rooms for the abandoned. Rooms for the homeless. Rooms for the terrified. Rooms for the confused. Rooms for the hopeless. This is King’s Home. One mission. One purpose. To serve youth, mothers and children at risk. This is our calling from Christ. When we serve them, we serve Him. When we nurture them, we nurture Him. When we comfort them, we comfort Him. When we transform them, we transform Him. When we heal them, we heal Him. When we love them, we love Him. When we honor them, we honor Him. This is the King’s Home. A place with one solid mission. A place with one united purpose. King’s Home. A place built upon the solid foundation of Christ. A place where compassion resides. A place where love dwells. A place where hope lives. King’s Home. Where hope lives.
Mission: King’s Home seeks to serve and glorify God by providing Christ-centered homes and services in which compassion and competence combine to meet the needs of women, children and families.

Trying to keep our youth & womens homes sanitized is not an easy feat! 😅
Please let us know if you are able to help with any of the following:
- Disinfectant Wipes
- Hand Sanitizer
- Disinfecting Aerosol Spray
Can you help our youth?
Our girls and guys (8th-12th grades) involved in spring athletics were dealt a huge blow when they found out they won't be able to finish this season because of COVID-19. This broken dream on top of the chaos they have already experienced in their lives has led to increased depression and anger issues.
Our hope is to be able to offer our youth new ways to exercise to help cope with stress and release the "feel good" endorphins they need so badly right now during quarantine.
Can you help us as we seek to provide sturdy, high quality trampolines and nets for our youth homes? If you can help with this expense please let us know! This would be a huge blessing during stressful time for our youth and their houseparents!!
Ready for some encouragement today? 🙏
Last Friday, we were blessed to have our spiritual matriarch, Liz Sherrell lead our office team in a powerful time of prayer and fasting on behalf of King's Home during this world pandemic.
Liz encouraged us to pray her declaration from Psalm 90 & 91 daily and we encourage you to do the same. We believe in the power of prayer!
"This is the time to draw close to God. He loves you, He already knew this was coming, He knows the end and He will take care of you. This is my declaration from Psalm 90 and 91 and I urge you to say it every day over yourself, your youth and children and your circumstances:
'Lord, you have been my dwelling place for generations! You are my refuge and my God, you will deliver me from the noisy pestilence, I will not be afraid of the darkness or the arrows that fly. A thousand shall fall at my side and ten thousand at my right hand but it will not come near me!
You are my everlasting God. You care for even the sparrows that fall, You will care for me. Your faithfulness is everlasting from generation to generation. Your mercy surrounds me. I come to You now as one of your little ones, cover me, shelter me under your wings, hide me in the shadow of Your secret place. I know You have given Your angels charge over me, I know You will hear me when I call from the midst of destruction on every side. I know You will never leave me nor forsake me. I come now to sit and rest at your feet Lord.'”
Many King's Home youth are absolutely heartbroken they won't be returning to school this year. This loss hits our 4 seniors especially hard; they will miss huge milestones like prom, banquets, awards day and graduation.
In order to encourage joy for our seniors (and other youth) during this quarantine, we are brainstorming about adding new outdoor activities at both our boys and girls campuses. We think adding SAND VOLLEYBALL COURTS would be an awesome way our kids could have fun and release stress!! 🏐
If you are able to help us out by donating towards two sets of heavy duty (competition type) volleyball nets, poles, balls and sand, please let us know!
The Thomas family has dedicated over 20 years of their lives to serving teenage boys at King's Home. We praise God for their faithfulness and all our house parents who have surrendered to the call of ministry! These frontline missionaries give hope, healing, and opportunity to kids ages 10-19.

This Easter, we rejoice in your faithful support that allows us to restore dignity and Hope to lives like Amy’s...
In 2019, Amy came to King’s Home battling depression and PTSD from being sexually abused. She reported frequent thoughts of self-harm and the team at King’s Home realized she needed more care than we could provide. After spending six months in an intensive program, Amy returned to King’s Home. She reported being able to focus better and move past her sexual abuse. She re-joined the choir and began drawing again.
Last month Amy came to an important crossroads in her journey when she was approached by the DA to testify against her former abuser in court. After seeking wisdom from her counselor, Amy decided she was ready and chose to testify. During the court proceedings, she was able to tell her story and shine the light of truth into the darkness that once held her captive. Amy did well in her testimony and felt empowered when her abuser was sentenced to jail time!

Our King's Garden team was shocked and saddened to discover the majority of our chicken flock dead in their coop this morning. Last night a predator(s?) got into the coop and killed over 100 chickens. We only have approximately 35-40 chickens left, and some of them may not make it due to injury.
If you are able, please consider helping us replenish our chickens. They are an important piece of our therapeutic garden program, providing fresh eggs for our residents as well as profit for our program through community sales.
We are looking for 150 of the following types of chickens: Brown layers (Rhode Island Red, Plymouth Rock, Sussex, Australop, Golden Comet, etc.). Pullets (6 mo+) to mature hens (under 3 1/2 years) are preferred at an approximate cost of $25 each. No roosters please!
Seems like everyday is a new challenge, but we will persevere. No matter what, we stand firm on God's promises, "I can do all things through Christ Jesus who gives me strength." Philippians 4:13. Let us hear from you.
Praise God for the hope and certainty of Jesus Christ who pierces the darkness of this world with his marvelous light! Jesus said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” (John 8:12)
The headlines of the world are unsettling and dark; much like the stories of the abused youth, women, and moms with children that are entrusted to us at King’s Home.
This Easter, we rejoice in your faithful support that allows us to restore dignity and Hope to the precious lives of our residents. Through joy, blessings, trials, failures, disappointments, and victories – it is HIS hope that guides and guards us all. He restores lost time, anoints new identities, and creates NEW LIFE for those who call on HIM.
The fear of the unknown and the pain of the past can be crippling for our residents. It is here in their darkest moments we are empowered with “the light that shines in the darkness and the darkness cannot overcome it!” (John 1:5)
Your generous gifts are life-transforming, and stir up Hope in the hearts of King’s Home residents for a better future! Together, we help restore faith in our Risen Savior who makes all things new and heals the deep wounds of our painful pasts.

Anxiety and depression are often said to be “two sides of the same coin.” Ideally, when someone endures trauma, they should seek treatment quickly so the effects don’t linger. But with domestic violence, it’s not uncommon for survivors to minimize what they went through or keep it a secret all together, never seeking treatment. Read more here:
Anxiety and depression can coexist, but there are ways to deal with the symptoms of both.

To prevent the spread of COVID-19, we're supposed to stay home, but home isn't safe for everyone.
Please pray for all of our youth homes during this time of #quarantine.
Pray that our house parents would have supernatural strength to remain “strong in the Lord and in His mighty power” while they care for our youth 24/7.
Pray that THIS may be the time of salvation and spiritual growth for the hurting youth in our care that don’t know Christ!
