🚨 Team, let’s give a round of applause for SPC Dume who just completed Basic Training and AIT for 12C - Bridge Crewmember, responsible for constructing and maintaining both fixed and floating bridges, as well as rafts, to enable soldiers to cross rivers, gaps, and rough terrain. They also perform demolition tasks, prepare obstacles, and operate bridge er****on boats and light vehicles. This role is physically demanding and requires skills in construction, engineering principles, and the use of heavy equipment. Some words from SPC Dume .. “My biggest take away from my journey completing basic training would be wanting to genuinely improve myself . I was surprised about the amount of goals I was able to achieve and accomplish. Though the environment was very stressful and challenging I am proud to say that I was able to make it through and I wouldn’t trade my experience for anyone. Some words from PV2 Smith “Army Basic Training was a demanding and eye-opening experience that tested me in ways I hadn’t expected. The days were long, the schedule was strict, and every task required focus, discipline, and teamwork. At first, it was difficult to adjust to the constant pressure and high expectations, but over time, I started to see progress in myself—physically, mentally, and emotionally. I learned the importance of attention to detail, following orders, and staying composed under stress. Basic Training didn’t just teach me how to be a soldier; it taught me resilience and the value of pushing through challenges to accomplish something greater than myself. The U.S. Army MOS 35W is a feeder position for Foreign Language Specialists, where Soldiers attend the Defense Language Institute (DLI) for language training. After graduating from DLI, they are assigned to a more specialized MOS, most commonly 35M (Human Intelligence Collector) or 35P (Cryptologic Linguist). The specific language learned and the ultimate MOS assignment depend on factors like the Soldier’s DLAB (Defense Language Aptitude Battery) score, the Army’s needs, and current manning levels.
