I’m running for the State Senate because we have to fix the broken systems. School funding. Property taxes. High energy costs. Health care. These are issues challenging towns and residents all across Connecticut. But I’m also running because it’s really, really important for Cheshire that we have more Cheshire-based voices in the legislature in Hartford. There’s a lot of good things happening in Cheshire. Farms and green space are being saved. Our two new elementary schools are about to open. Led by Ball & Socket Arts and other property owners on West Main Street, there’s tremendous potential for cultural and commercial growth in a part of Cheshire many of us hope will be our ‘town center’ one day. The long-awaited ‘north end’ has been developed with fantastic residential, retail and restaurant options. And let’s not forget the expansion of Bartlem Park and improvements to Mixville and all of our park spaces around town. We have so much to be proud of here and it shows. Cheshire is one of the fastest growing towns in CT and we have the eighth best school district (though I bet we may be moving up.) I’ve been working for Cheshire for over a decade now. I’ve served on Boards and Commissions, Planning & Zoning and the Town Council for the past seven years. I’ve loved every minute of it and I’m not done yet. Cheshire is in a great spot now but we also have many challenges ahead and several potential large budget items - a full-time, paid fire department, ongoing traffic and congestion, ongoing pressure to develop green space, school renovations, a ‘north end’ fire station and a major update to our waste water treatment plant (to name a few examples.) Our little town can’t do it all alone. We need more support from state resources and to get our fair share we need more Cheshire-based representation. I’d be honored to fight for you Cheshire. I promise I’ll make you proud. Please get out and vote Cheshire Dems!!
