Cheswold Fire Company, along with the Hartly (51) and Clayton (45) Fire Companies were dispatched to a house fire in the development of Whitetail Run near Kenton. Engine 43-2 arrived to find a single-story home with a working fire in the attic over the garage. 43-2 laid a supply line from a hydrant and advanced a hose line into the attic. Engine 51-3 arrived and took a second hose line into the house to check for extension. The fire was extinguished after heavy damage was done to the attic and roof over the garage. One firefighter and one civilian suffered minor injuries.
Units responding: Engine 43-2, Rescue 43, Brush 43-0, Engine 51-3, Rescue 51, Engine 51-5, Ambulance 51, Quint 45, Engine 45-3, and Medic KM 6.
The Delaware State Fire Marshal's Office investigated the fire.
