Birds Of a Feather Opposition to Flock Cameras in Our local Communities

07/15/2026

Honestly this page was meant to help stay more behind the scenes but since the overwhelming support I won't have the time for running this page.

Just add me or follow me Zach Hodge if you want to stay up to date on the Flock situation in town.

If they were for your safety you would have been asked about it and given a voice.

Tomorrow night @6:00pm I will be at the Chetek City Council meeting to plead my case for the nullification of the Flock Contract.

Whether you're for Flock or against it, a public employee signing a contract and keeping it a secret from everyone, even the mayor and city council for 4 months? Well that's dishonest and unacceptable behavior from our public servants.

It gets even worse when you know that even a month after the cameras were installed there was no policy by the police department regarding Flock and its use as it was still actively being written.

If you have an opinion, I truly do hope you show up and voice it, even if that's showing up and telling me to go to hell.

Well said. 👌

Cameras were also installed everywhere they needed to be prior to the Flock rollout. The addition of thousands of them being systematically installed all around us should raise a red flag for you.

The LAPD is ending its contract with Flock, because Flock misled them like they do all of their customers on who owns and can access the data from their cameras.

In case you were wondering:
Police chiefs do not have corporate authority of the city to sign a contract on the city's behalf. In fact, mayors, councilmen nor any other single city official, elected or not, are. able to sign a contract on behalf of the city without approval or authorization.

If any of the of employees I've managed or employed had signed a contract for the business that I was unaware of and had to answer to customers about? They would be fired immediately, with haste and the contract would be rendered void immediately.

Why we allow lower standards from those that are entrusted to SERVE us than those we hold for ourselves, begets me.

Here is the entirety of the Flock Contract for the city of Chetek. 8 pages, mostly of which is just an invoice order, with the terms and conditions on a hyperlink separate from the actual contract document.

This also shows that the Chief signed a 3-year, $18,000 contract with flock, and felt it unnecessary to mention it to anyone for almost FOUR months.

I was told via email correspondence with the Chief that all communication was done via zoom, and barring a few feedback emails from Chetek Officers, there is no other notes, emails documents, or anything regarding Flock.

I have a decade of experience in business reviewing, negotiating, editing, and creating hundreds of contracts with individuals, other businesses, vendors, and even government bodies. Nothing about the process of the implementation of this contract was transparent, or even show any modicum of due diligence, with the exception of the word of someone that hid this from the public to begin with?

I have seen much more due diligence done by school boards I have presented to, but alas that's why the city council wasnt looped in.

If their thought is "if you have nothing to hide you have nothing to fear," why hide this information from the public, mayor, and city council for months?

Why hide any and all communication via zoom so it can't be requested via public record? It's not just out of convenience of the process- it's a core part of it.

Power does not corrupt, it attracts. It attracts some of the very best of us, but it equally and inversely attracts some of the very worst. The more powerful technology gets, the more dangerous the corruption will be.

Flock systems will continuously be abused, and the technology is not stopping at ALPRs, as it's already surpassed that long ago.

Five Georgia police officers have been fired and are facing charges after authorities say they used their access to their city's Flock Safety System for "non-law enforcement purposes."
